He penned: “Heather Brooke Hamilton aka Heather B Armstrong aka dooce aka love of my life. July 19, 1975 – May 9, 2023.

“‘It takes an ocean not to break’. Hold your loved ones close and love everyone else.”

Her partner claims that she died by suicide.

In a statement to ABC News, he said: “Heather B Hamilton (Armstrong) was a brilliant, funny, compassionate writer who struggled with mental health and alcoholism.

“She saved many lives through her authorship on depression, but in the end could not save herself.”

He added: “Heather believed that ending her life was wrong, but in the end, her judgment was clouded by alcohol.

“She was loved and will be deeply missed.”

In an interview with Good Morning America in 2009, Armstrong opened up about her serious battle with depression and revealed it was an ‘ongoing battle’.

While in a mental hospital for postpartum depression, she credited her blog audience for helping her get through the difficult period.

“Blogging about it saved my life,” she acknowledged.

“I really think that the support I got from all those amazing readers was part of the reason I decided to check into the hospital, and that hospital stay saved my life.”

Armstong and her first husband, Jon, the father of her two kids, separated in 2012.
