Two police officers have reportedly been ‘disciplined’ over Bob Saget’s tragic death

It’s been alleged that the pair leaked information about Saget’s passing to the public.

In a statement, Orange County Sheriff John Mina reportedly said: “This case highlights how important it is to allow detectives in death investigations the time to ensure next of kin notifications are made before that information is disseminated to the public.

“The deputies acknowledged their wrongdoing and were disciplined for their actions.”

Allegedly, one of the deputies informed his brother about Saget’s death, who then leaked it on social media after he visited the scene.

Supposedly, the other told his neighbour about the star’s passing.

News of the 65-year-old’s death was confirmed in a statement released by his family to E! News.

Describing his cause of death as ‘an accidental blow to the head,’ it read: “The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma.

“They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it, and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved.”

Saget passed away on January 9 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

After his autopsy report was made public, one expert said the injury was so severe it ‘looked liked he’d been hit on the head with a baseball bat’.

Neurosurgeon Dr Sanjay Gupta, who is CNN’s chief medical respondest, reportedly said: “I think what it reveals more than anything else is this was not a simple bump on the head.

“When you read this autopsy report that may still be the case, but it was a pretty significant blow to the head.”

He referred to his eyes, adding: “If you fracture your orbit, you have significant pain.”
