Boyfriend Proposes To Girlfriend By Placing Ring On A Greasy Sausage And People Aren’t Happy About It

A boyfriend believing he was being ‘romantic’ decided to propose to his girlfriend by placing his great grandmother’s ring on a greasy sausage, alongside the rest of breakfast – yet people have shamed him online for his gesture.

Excited that she was engaged, the fiancée decided to take the engagement news to Facebook so she could share with family and friends. Her boyfriend had surprised her on her birthday with breakfast. Alongside a pancake that had ‘Will you marry me?’ written in chocolate sauce, there was a pile of sausages and on one of the sausages, an engagement ring.

To create a ‘hand’, the boyfriend had placed all five sausages ‘fingers’ around a pancake and then he slotted the family heirloom on the sausage ‘engagement finger’.

Despite the bride-to-be being over the moon, her post was later shared on a Facebook shaming group and was quickly met with tons of comments.

The fiancée had captioned the post: “Sooo. This happened! Did I say ‘yes’?! Of course I did. The best part? That’s his great grandmother’s ring. Happy birthday to me.”

Many expressed their distaste at a beautiful and sentimental piece of jewellery being covered in the grease of sausage and others said that they felt “offended” on behalf of the bride-to-be at style in which she had been proposed to.

One woman wrote: “I didn’t even see the ring at first and then, there it was, circling a greasy sausage. Grandma would’ve been thrilled to know she passed down an heirloom ring that would one day be featured in fatty breakfast foods.”

Another commented: “I’m all for unique proposals but I hate when they include food and drinks. I told my husband when he was proposing he could do anything as long as he doesn’t put it inside anything like that.”

Whilst a third said: “I didn’t think it was that bad until I looked at the second photo. Looks like a cadaver hand. Also I couldn’t marry someone who eats their eggs that well done.”

Meanwhile, a man joined in saying: “Nothing says ‘Marry Me’ like insinuating your bride has sausage fingers.”

In agreement, another said: “Creative, yes! Creepy AF, YES. This picture gives off serial killer vibes.”

Despite so many comments stating that it was not a great way to propose, others were quick to defend the boyfriend and his gesture – many said they would still be saying yes to being his bride.

One person stated: “While hilarious… This is really wholesome and sweet. I can’t be mad. we need more of that right now. I would however like to see how the wedding plays out.”

In other news, a mum has gone viral after she shared the advice she gave her young daughter when her boyfriend dumped her.
