Brian Laundrie’s family has revealed the reason he will not have a funeral service.

Their attorney, Steve Bertolino, has confirmed his remains, which were discovered in Grand Teton National Park, will be cremated.

He told People: “No manner or cause of death was determined, and the remains were sent to an anthropologist for further evaluation.

“Remains will be cremated and there will be no funeral service.”

The FBI also released a statement and said it was a ‘comparison of dental records’ that ‘confirmed’ the remains belonged to Laundrie.

It read: “A comparison of dental records confirmed that the human remains found at the T Mabry Carlton Jr Memorial Reserve and Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park are those of Brian Laundrie.”

It comes as some of Laundrie’s belongings, including a backpack, were reportedly found at the site by his father, Chris.

This discovery sparked a lot of questions and his parents were faced with claims that they had planted the item.

Denying the claims, Bertolino told CNN’s Chris Cuomo: “Chris [Laundrie] didn’t want to pick the bag up because he wanted law enforcement to see it. This was caught on camera.

“Chris couldn’t find the law enforcement because they were then out of sight, because Chris had been in the woods, so he didn’t want to leave the bag there with the news reporter standing nearby, so he picked it up.”

He continued: “They looked at the contents of the bag.

“At that time, law enforcement officers showed him a picture on the phone of a backpack that law enforcement had located also nearby, and also some distance off the trail.”

The fugitive was added to the FBI’s ‘Most Wanted’ list last month as authorities wanted to speak to him about the disappearance of his fiancé, Gabby Petito.

The YouTuber failed to return home after holidaying with Laundrie in a van.

Tragically, her body was found in a National Park, in Wyoming, after a search that sparked huge global interest.

The vlogger’s cause of death was ruled to be strangulation by a coroner.
