Brian Laundrie’s father, Chris, is going to join the search for his missing son, according to the family’s lawyer.
Lawyer Steve Bertolino told the New York Post that his parents believe he is somewhere in the 25,000-acre Carlton Reserve in Florida, which has been closed to the public.

He said: “Since the preserve has been closed to the public, Chris has not been able to look for Brian in the only place Chris and Roberta believe Brian may be.”
Shutting down the benefits of them issuing a public appeal, he added: “The parents don’t believe he is watching the news in any way, shape or form. They believe he’s in the preserve or some other type of wilderness area if he has left the preserve.
“So putting out a public plea and getting scrutiny for that is not necessarily in their best interest.”
He also alleged that Chris Laundrie happily agreed to join the search for his son after he was asked by law enforcement.
North Port Police Department in Florida denied requesting Chris Laundrie’s assistance, and the FBI declined to comment.
The missing man was reportedly the last person to be seen with the 22-year-old vlogger before she vanished and was reported missing on September 11. They’d been holidaying together in a motorhome.
It comes as Petito’s family claimed Laundrie is ‘too cowardly to kill himself’ in a TV interview with Dr Phil.
