Brian Laundrie’s parents have been forced to deny that they ‘planted their son’s backpack in a Florida nature reserve‘.
Chris and Roberta Laundrie’s attorney, Steven Bertolino, responded to the claims which came about after it was revealed that Chris was the one who found the item on the first day he joined the search.
In an interview with NBC News, the lawyer said: “Chris didn’t want to pick the bag up because he wanted law enforcement to see it. This was caught on camera.

“Chris couldn’t find the law enforcement because they were then out of sight, because Chris had been in the woods, so he didn’t want to leave the bag there with the news reporter standing nearby, so he picked it up.”
Laundrie’s remains are believed to have been found when scouring the Carlton Reserve, Florida, in a location that was previously underwater.

It’s believed that Laundrie came back to Florida from his cross-country trip on August 31, however, his girlfriend, Gabby Petito, did not return with him.
Tragically, on September 19, the YouTuber’s body was found in Wyoming.
A few weeks later, on October 12, it was confirmed that she died from ‘strangulation’.
Teton County Coroner Dr Brent Blue revealed the horrific findings during a news briefing.
“By Wyoming state statute, no other information will be released about the autopsy.”
