A 24-year-old British man who has been jailed for 25 years in Dubai, after police found vape liquid with CBD oil in his car, has reportedly been ‘tortured’ in prison.

Billy Hood, who claims he was forced into signing a confession he didn’t understand in Arabic, or face spending the rest of his life behind bars, has been ‘beaten for days’ inside the Al-Barsha jail, according to his friend, Alfie Cain.

He told The Sun: “It’s been bad in Al-Barsha, I’m not going to sugar coat it.

“When they took him to the CID drugs unit they beat him for an entire five days, he told me police officers tasered him, slapped him in the face and all they fed him was bread and a little bit of water.

“He was basically tortured and put in a cell with 30 other people for five days.”

Hood allegedly told his friend that police said they’d stop the alleged ‘abuse’ if he signed the confession, despite not understanding it.

Cain continued: “Billy said they told him he could go home if he signed the paper, that’s why he gave in and signed that piece of paper in Arabic.

“He had no idea what he was signing, but he just wanted to make it stop.”

Man Jailed For Five Years For Flouting Covid Rules

Human Rights Watch, an international non-governmental organisation, claim that Al-Barsha was named as a detention centre in the UAE where prisoners live in poor conditions.

The football coach’s lawyers claim a friend left the oil (which is legal in the UK) in his car and texted him to tell him it was there.

They say the ‘only logical conclusion’ to his arrest is that authorities intercepted the text messages.

It comes as his mother, Breda Guckion, made an emotional appeal for help during an interview with Good Morning Britain.

She said: “As a mother, and I know a lot of people know Billy. Please, please, if anyone can help and help get Billy home – please do.”
