Britney Spears has allegedly been unfollowed by fellow pop star Christina Aguilera on Instagram after sharing a ‘fat-shaming’ post about her.

It all started when the ‘Toxic’ singer took to the social media platform on Monday and hit out at the star and her backup dancers.

In a now-deleted post, in which Spears posed nude, she vowed never to perform again and said: “See this picture right here… Kiss my God damn motherf***ing a** you f**king b**tard.”

After removing this post, she uploaded another image with the message: “I found there was only one way to look thin: hang out with fat people.”

She wrote alongside the post: “I wish I could have chosen the nannies for my children… my dancers… I mean if I had Christina Aguilera’s dancers I would have looked extremely small [dancers emojis]… I mean why not talk about it??

“Don’t you think my confidence would have been a bit better if I could choose where I lived, ate, whom I called on the phone, dated and who was on stage with me!!!

“It’s hard sometimes now I see how much of my womanhood was stripped away at that time and every person sat back and didn’t say a thing!!!”

Concluding the post, she added: “Anyways … I will be here talking bout things people NEVER talked about.”

Fans were quick to express their disappointment at the singer’s remarks.

One user tweeted: “We all together celebrated Britney Spears’ freedom.

“We understand she’s not healthy at the moment but we can’t pretend there’s no gravity in the words she writes. Body-shaming Christina Aguilera and her dancers is so nasty. She needs to apologise.”

In agreement, a second said: “What Britney Spears went through is not okay, but that does not justify her bullying and fat-shaming people on her Instagram. Utterly disappointed.”

“Britney just needs to stop posting full stop,” a third said.

This isn’t the first time Spears appears to have hit out at Aguilera on social media.

Last year, in November, the pop star criticised the ‘Genie in a Bottle’ singer for ‘refusing’ to acknowledge her conservatorship after she was recorded pulling a face at the Latin Grammy Awards when asked to give her thoughts on the matter.

When being pulled away by her rep, it’s believed Aguilera commented: “I can’t… but I’m happy for her.”

Amid this, Spears reportedly said: “13 years being in a corrupt system yet why is it such a hard topic for people to talk about???”

However, before the star’s conservatorship came to an end, Aguilera posted a heartfelt message on Twitter.

In a thread, she penned: “These past few days I’ve been thinking about Britney and everything she is going through.

“It is unacceptable that any woman, or human, wanting to be in control of their own destiny might not be allowed to live life as they wish.

“To be silenced, ignored, bullied or denied support by those ‘close’ to you is the most depleting, devastating and demeaning thing imaginable. The harmful mental and emotional damage this can take on a human spirit is nothing to be taken lightly.”
