Britney Spears’ dad allegedly called her ‘fat’ and a ‘bad mother’ not long after her conservatorship began.

According to a family friend, James Spears decided to mastermind his daughter’s life after she was submitted to a psychiatric ward for a mental health evaluation in 2008.

Jacqueline Butcher told the New Yorker: “Jamie said [to Britney], ‘Baby’… And I thought he was going to say ‘We love you, but you need help’.

“But what he said was, ‘You’re fat. Daddy’s gonna get you on a diet and a trainer, and you’re gonna get back in shape’.”

After the star’s breakdown, Butcher claimed that the 68-year-old would promise his daughter that the news would soon be saying ‘She’s Back,’ as he arranged for her return to the world of showbiz.

Yet at the same time, he allegedly put Spears under ‘years of verbal abuse’.

“He would get all in her face – spittle flying – telling her she was a w**** and a terrible mother,” Butcher told the publication.

Recently, Spears’ judge has denied the star’s request to have her father removed from the conservatorship, despite her emotional plea.

In the singer’s leaked testimony, she allegedly said: “I just want my life back.

“I truly believe this conservatorship is abusive… I’ve told the whole world [that] I’m okay and I’m happy. It’s a lie.”

She continued: “I thought just maybe [if] I said that enough, I might become happy because I’ve been in denial. I’ve been in shock. I am traumatised. You know, ‘fake it till you make it?’

“But now I’m telling you the truth, okay? I’m not happy. I can’t sleep. I’m so angry, it’s insane. And I’m depressed. I cry every day, and the reason I’m telling you this is because I don’t think the state of California can have all this written in the court documents from the time I showed up and do absolutely nothing.

“My dad and anyone involved in this conservatorship, including my management… they should be in jail.”

After hearing her testimony, Spears’ dad has reportedly said he’s ‘sorry’ to see his daughter ‘in so much pain’.

“He is sorry to see is daughter suffering and in so much pain,” his statement read. “Mr Spears loves his daughter very much.”
