Bruce Willis’ wife has begged paparazzi to ‘stop’ invading her husband’s privacy as she updated fans on his condition in an emotional Instagram post.

Model Emma Heming Willis, 44, tied the knot to the Die Hard and Pulp Fiction actor, 67, in 2009.

Last year, Willis was diagnosed with aphasia – a serious neurological condition which impacts a person’s ability to communicate.

The diagnosis, which forced Willis to retire from acting, was then advanced to ‘untreatable’ frontotemporal dementia.

Now, Emma is pleading with the media to give her husband ‘space’ as she teared up in a video posted on social media.

Bruce Willis says ‘nothing can keep me down’ in resurfaced video amid dementia battle…

She describes an incident in which Willis had gone for coffee with friends before being approached by the paparazzi.

Emma warned photographers to ‘keep your space’ and ‘stop yelling’ at Willis when they see him in public.

She tells her nearly 640,000 followers: “If you are someone that is looking after someone with dementia, you know how difficult and stressful it can be to get someone out into the world and just to navigate them safely.”

She adds: “I’m just seeing headlines and there’s a video of my husband out, getting some coffee with some friends who did a stand-up job of protecting him.

“So in the spirit of raising awareness around dementia, it’s clear that there’s still a lot of education that needs to be put forth.

“So this one is going out to the photographers and the video people that are trying to get those exclusives of my husband out and about, just keep your space.

“I know this is your job, but maybe just keep your space.”

She concludes the clip, saying: “For the video people, please don’t be yelling at my husband, asking him how he’s doing, or the woo-hooing or the yippee-ki-yays – just don’t do it, OK?

“Give him the space, allow for our family or whoever’s with him that day to be able to get him from point A to point B safely.”

Fans of the couple have quickly taken to the comments section on the video to offer their support.

One person writes: “I’m sorry you had to say this at all, but you said it perfectly.”

Another says: “So much love to you and everyone around you.

While a third adds: “You all are doing a brilliant job with an unbelievably difficult task. Love and respect to the Willis family.”

Bruce’s family announced his dementia diagnosis in February with several emotional posts and statements, after initially detailing his health struggles a year ago.

A statement shared on daughter Rumer’s Instagram account said: “Our family wanted to start by expressing our deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love, support and wonderful stories we have all received since sharing Bruce’s original diagnosis.

“In the spirit of that, we wanted to give you an update about our beloved husband, father and friend since we now have a deeper understanding of what he is experiencing.

“Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD).”

She continued to explain the pain the family felt but admitted they were pleased to finally have a clear diagnosis.
