Caitlyn Jenner, who recently said trans swimmer Lia Thomas is not a ‘rightful winner,’ has sparked uproar on social media after saying she supports the controversial ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill.

The former Olympian appeared on Fox Business Live where she shared her thoughts on Governor Ron DeSantis’ controversial plans.

When Jenner was asked whether she agreed that it was the ‘right thing’ to ban the teaching of gender identity to young children, she responded: “Absolutely. I’m a big supporter of Ron DeSantis and what he’s doing. I’m a parent.”

“I have been in control of my children’s destiny and what they learn in school – not some math teacher. I can teach those lessons. So yes, I am in support of Ron DeSantis and what he’s done there. I’m disappointed in the backlash he’s gotten – especially from Disney.”

After watching the debate, many viewers took to Twitter and slammed Jenner, who came out as a trans woman in 2015, over her views.

One tweeted: “How is Caitlyn both trans and transphobic at the same time? How do those two things coexist at the same time?!”

Another added: “Caitlyn said in her coming out interview with Diane Sawyer that she knew she was trans when she was 8 years old. Imagine if she’d been told that was okay instead of something she had to hide her whole life (not linking because of misgendering/deadnaming).”

“Caitlyn isn’t considering the need for a safe space for children to learn about and explore these things, especially if their parents happen to be transphobic and won’t support them,” a third commented. “This is beyond disappointing.”

This isn’t the first time that Jenner has made controversial comments about the LGBTQ group.

In an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the reality star admitted that she kind of likes ‘tradition’ and wasn’t always sure about gay marriage, commenting: “I’m older than most people in the audience.

“I kind of like tradition, and it’s always been a man and a woman, and I’m thinking, ‘I don’t quite get it’.”

However, she apparently went on to say that she’s now in support of gay marriage.
