Cedric McMillan’s tragic death reportedly marks the ‘third famous bodybuilder’s passing in six months,’ which has apparently ‘rocked the community’.
News of the 44-year-old comes after George Peterson and Shawn Rhoden died at the end of last year, also at a young age.
Fans of the bodybuilding community have taken to Twitter and shared their concerns over their deaths.

One tweeted: “Confused as to what’s happening in the bodybuilding world right now.”
A second remarked: “Cedric McMillan, star bodybuilder, dead at 44. Another person died and they won’t disclose why he died?”
“RIP Cedric McMillan,” a third penned. “They are trying to put this one down to previous covid infection. He is on video saying he got over it in 2020 with no problems, but then in April 2021 he suddenly started with heart issues. I wonder what he could have also had around that time?”
McMillan’s death was announced on April 13 by a supplement company named Black Skull, who sponsored the athlete.

On Instagram, the brand’s CEO, Marcelo Bella, said the star would be ‘greatly missed’.
The full statement read: “We regret to inform you that our friend and brother @cedricmcmillan passed away today.”
“Cedric will be greatly missed as an athlete, comrade, friend, and father. Our prayers are with all his family and friends. He ‘fought the good fight’ and now he rests.”
Before his heartbreaking death, McMillan had opened up about a near-death experienced he’d had, which he claimed was caused by having Covid and then pneumonia.
He told Generation Iron he had to take a break from competing due to ‘developing heart issues,’ saying: “I was almost dead. My wife was with me, but I was outta here, seriously.“But I didn’t see no white light. I was that close.”
An official cause of death has not been released at the time of writing.
