People Call For Adrien Brody To Be Banned From Oscars After ‘Disgusting’ Act
Adrien Brody is being slammed for his ‘disgusting’ act after winning his second Best Actor Oscars.
The 51-year-old actor won for the period drama film The Brutallist, beating nominees including Timothy Chalamet, Colman Domingo, Sebastian Stan, and Ralph Fiennes.
Yet he’s the talk of social media for an entirely different reason – as fans have expressed disgust at his ‘gross’ act before making it on stage.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), one person said: “If you can’t respect the rules and boundaries of the event you should be banned.”
Another simply commented: “Gross.”
“Disgusting,” wrote a third, alongside a repost of Brody’s ‘gross’ act.
A fourth viewer shared: “Appalling. He shouldn’t be invited back after this.”
And a fifth wrote: “That’s so foul. Ban him now.”

When Brody walked up the steps towards the stage, he turned around and threw gum out of his mouth towards his girlfriend and ex of Harvey Weinstein, Georgina Chapman, 48, to the disgust of viewers.
Chapman diligently caught the gum before the actor went and made his speech.
Brody said in his speech onstage: “Winning an award like this signifies a destination and something my character references in the film.
“But to me, it also, beyond the pinnacle of a career, it is a chance to begin again and the opportunity to hopefully be fortunate enough so that the next 20 years of my life, I can prove that I am worthy of such meaningful, important, and relevant roles.”
He went on to thank Chapman and the two children she shares with Weinstein, continuing: “I know it’s been a rollercoaster. Thank you for accepting me into your life,” before revealing the two youngsters call him ‘Popsie.’

Many Oscars viewers quickly criticized Brody for throwing the gum after watching his speech.
One person said: “Adrien Brody THROWING his gum at Georgina Chapman while on the stairs to accept his award I honestly more shocking to me than Will Smith slapping Chris Rock.”
In agreement, a second wrote: “Adrien Brody could’ve used his long speech to apologize to his partner for throwing gum at her.”
But this isn’t the only reason that Brody is being slammed following his appearance at the Oscars.

The award-winning actor is also being criticized for his ‘entitled’ speech that some people have gone as far as saying is the ‘worst ever.’
“Adrien Brody is so rude and entitled to think he deserves more time on stage than others,” one viewer fumed.
Another added: “Adrien Brody gave one of the worst acceptance speeches of all time tonight btw. So entitled and rude.”

Brody, who won Best Actor for portraying Hungarian architect László Tóth, a Holocaust survivor who emigrates to America after World War II, reflected on the uncertain nature of his profession.
He stated: “Acting is a very fragile profession. It looks very glamorous, and at certain moments, it is.
“No matter where you are in your career, no matter what you’ve accomplished, it can all go away.”
As the wrap-up music began to play, the actor requested it stop as he boasted it ‘wasn’t his first rodeo’ and he wanted to thank his parents for creating ‘a strong foundation of respect and kindness.’
“I’m here once again to represent the lingering traumas and the repercussions of war and systematic oppression and of antisemitism and racism and othering,” Brody continued.
“I pray for a healthier and a happier and a more inclusive world. And I believe if the past can teach us anything, it’s a reminder to not let hate go unchecked.
“I love you, and I appreciate you all. Let’s fight for what’s right.”
