Amber Heard Shares Photos Of New Life After Changing Her Name And Moving To New Continent
Amber Heard has shared new photos, giving fans a rare glimpse into the quiet life she has built thousands of miles away from Hollywood.
The actress posted a series of photos, marking one of the first times in recent memory that she’s offered such an intimate look at her day-to-day life.
For many fans, the pictures are a stark contrast to the headlines that have followed Heard since her highly publicized legal battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp.
Instead of red carpets and blockbuster premieres, the actress now appears focused on a fresh start on a completely different continent.
She reportedly changed her name after leaving America
Heard’s move to Spain followed one of the most talked-about celebrity court cases in recent history.
After the conclusion of the 2022 defamation trial against Johnny Depp, the actress largely disappeared from public life in the United States.
She initially moved to Mallorca before eventually settling permanently in Madrid, where she has spoken warmly about her new home.
In an interview with Spanish media, Heard answered questions fluently in Spanish.
“I love Spain so much,” she said. When asked whether she hoped to remain there permanently, she replied: “Yes, I hope so. Yes, I love living here.”
Alongside the relocation came reports that Heard had begun using a different name.
Several publications have claimed the actress has been living under the alias Martha Jane Cannary, inspired by legendary American frontierswoman Calamity Jane, whose real name was Martha Jane Canary.
The reported name change is believed to serve a practical purpose by allowing Heard greater privacy while travelling and living in Spain, where she has been able to avoid much of the media attention that surrounded her in America.
Life after one of Hollywood’s biggest trials
Heard’s relocation came after the conclusion of the six-week defamation trial that dominated headlines around the world.
Johnny Depp sued his former wife over a 2018 Washington Post opinion article in which she described herself as a public figure representing survivors of domestic abuse, although she never mentioned Depp by name.
His legal team argued readers would understand the piece referred to him and that it had severely damaged his career.
Following weeks of testimony, a Virginia jury largely sided with Depp.
Heard was ordered to pay $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages, although Virginia law reduced the punitive damages to $350,000.
The jury also found in Heard’s favour on one part of her countersuit, awarding her $2 million in damages.
The trial became one of the most watched legal proceedings in modern celebrity history.
Millions followed livestreams of courtroom testimony, while clips circulated constantly across TikTok, YouTube and other social media platforms.
The verdict also had a significant impact on Heard’s public image and career.
Shortly afterwards, she sold her California home and left the United States.
A source later told People magazine that Heard simply wanted a quieter life centred around her daughter.
“She spends every day with her girl,” the source said. “They stroll around, visit parks and enjoy family time.”
Another source added that Heard ‘just had to get out of the US ‘after everything that had happened.

Family has become her biggest priority
Since moving overseas, Heard’s focus appears to have shifted almost entirely towards motherhood.
She welcomed daughter Oonagh Paige via surrogate in April 2021.
Earlier this year, she also announced the arrival of twins Agnes and Ocean, although she has not publicly identified their father.
Her latest Instagram updates continue that theme.
Rather than promoting film projects or glamorous events, her social media now centres on personal milestones, including spending time with her children and celebrating achievements like completing the Madrid race.
Running has also become a significant part of her routine.
Speaking previously to Shape, Heard explained why she enjoys the activity.
“I like running because it’s a way for me to alleviate stress, clear my mind, and refocus,” she said. “Plus, I can do it anywhere.”
She also said she no longer believes in making herself miserable to meet unrealistic beauty standards.
“If you’re not going to enjoy life, there’s no point in eating a certain way and working out and doing all the things actors do to manipulate how we look.”
“When I’m not preparing for a movie, I have more freedom, and I incorporate my workout into my life, so that I enjoy it and it doesn’t feel like an obligation.”
Is Amber Heard returning to acting?
Although Heard has stepped away from mainstream Hollywood, she has not completely abandoned acting.
Her most recent film appearances came in In the Fire and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, both released in 2023.
Earlier this year she also appeared in the documentary Silenced, which examines how defamation lawsuits can be used against people who speak publicly about abuse.
Speaking about the project, Heard stressed that it was not intended to revisit her own legal battle.
“This is not about me,” she said. “I have lost my ability to speak. I am not here to tell my story. I don’t want to tell my story.”
Industry insiders have also claimed Heard is interested in returning to acting at some stage, although reports suggest she has been selective about potential opportunities while continuing to build her new life in Spain.
For now, however, the actress appears content embracing a slower pace of life.
Amber shares rare photos from her new life in Spain
Heard took to Instagram after completing the KLM Norte Sur 10K race in Madrid on June 21, proudly sharing several photos from the event.
The actress could be seen smiling in a pink sports bra and matching running shorts while wearing her race bib.
“First race glow,” she captioned the post.
She also shared more emotional moments via her Instagram Stories.
One photo showed Heard embracing her five-year-old daughter, Oonagh Paige, moments after crossing the finish line.
Across the image, she simply wrote: “Nothing beats this feeling.”
The upload immediately attracted attention, not only because Heard rarely posts personal updates these days, but because it offered another glimpse into the quieter lifestyle she has embraced since relocating to Europe.
Fans quickly commented on how relaxed and happy she appeared.
One person wrote: “She looks great and happy, good for her.”
Another added: “Good for her!”
Others praised her decision to focus on health and family after several difficult years in the public eye.
Her latest photos show someone a long way removed from the Hollywood spotlight that once defined her career.
Whether she’s crossing a finish line, spending time with her children or simply enjoying the streets of Madrid, Heard seems determined to write a new chapter, one that’s far quieter than the one the world spent years watching unfold.
