Andrew Lloyd Webber Confirms His Son Nicholas Has Died Aged 43
Andrew Lloyd Webber has confirmed that his son Nicholas has tragically died aged 43.
Webber, 75, is an Oscar-winning composer and impresario of musical theatre.
Throughout his career, he’s scored 21 musicals, including Cats, Starlight Express and The Phantom of the Opera.
His son Nicholas Lloyd Webber followed in his footsteps and became a composer – scoring Love, Lies and Records and The Little Prince.

The 43-year-old also worked alongside his father at the Symphonic Suites at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London.
The devastated composer confirmed the tragic news his son had died on Twitter.
He wrote: “I am shattered to have to announce that my beloved elder son Nick died a few hours ago in Basingstoke Hospital.
“His whole family is gathered together and we are all totally bereft.”

Many people have taken to the comments and paid tribute to Nicholas.
Comedian Jason Manford writes: “So sorry for your loss. Thinking of you and your family at this time.”
While singer Lea Salonga adds: “So sorry for your loss sir. Holding you and your family in my prayers.”
One fan comments: “So very sorry for the loss, no parent should ever have to deal with losing a child, no matter how old they are.”
Last week, Lloyd Webber shared that his son had been hospitalised after being diagnosed with gastric cancer 18 months ago.
The composer said in a statement: “I am absolutely devastated to say that my eldest son Nick is critically ill.
“As my friends and family know, he has been fighting gastric cancer for the last 18 months and Nick is now hospitalised.”
He continued: “We are all praying that Nick will turn the corner. He is bravely fighting with his indomitable humour, but at the moment my place is with him and the family.”
Last week, the heartbroken father shared that he would be missing the opening of Bad Cinderella in New York, as his son was in his hospital.

Addressing fans, Lloyd Webber said: “I just want to send my very best wishes to the other families I have around the world in the theatre, particularly, of course, the cast of Bad Cinderella, because it’s the opening night tonight and I’m absolutely gutted not to be able to be there.
“But, my place is really here in England at the moment.”
According to the NHS website, gastric cancer is a form of cancer that’s found anywhere in the stomach.
It is not very common in the UK.
The main symptoms listed include heartburn or acid reflux, problems swallowing, feeling or being sick, feeling full very quickly when eating and symptoms of indigestion.
