Anthony Joshua’s ‘Predicted’ Fatal Crash In Eerie Interview
Anthony Joshua ‘predicted’ the fatal crash that left two dead in a chilling interview that has now resurfaced.
It was announced earlier this week (December 29) that the boxing legend, 36, had been involved in a deadly car crash on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway – known as one of Nigeria’s deadliest roads.
The former world champion was swiftly rushed to hospital, having ‘narrowly escaped death,’ despite concerns his injuries may be worse than originally reported.
Joshua had traveled to Nigeria with friends to visit family who live in the town of Sagamu in Ogun State, to ring in the new year.
The crash
The devastation that unfolded is far from the celebrations they potentially had planned.
Joshua was in the back of a Lexus SUV when it collided with a stationary truck, causing a major accident on the highway.
It came just a week after the star had fought YouTube boxer Jake Paul at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
Joshua won via a sixth-round knockout in the fight, which was broadcast on Netflix, and was viewed by over 33 million global viewers.

In a post following the fight, Joshua said: “A massive shoutout to the 33 million of you who tuned in to support me, Jake, and everyone on the undercard, and thank you to those who prayed for me during fight week.
“Enjoy the festive break if you’re celebrating, and have a blessed week if you’re not.
“Big things coming in the New Year, so stay tuned. We are all one under God’s eyes.”
Following the deadly crash, his opponent Paul released a heartfelt statement.
The 28-year-old wrote: “Life is much more important than boxing.
“I am praying for the lost lives, AJ, and anyone impacted by today’s unfortunate accident.”
Anthony Joshua’s family issues update
A family member of Joshua’s, who has not been named, said that they are all in complete ‘shock.’
The two men killed in the accident were close friend’s of the star, as well as members of his team.

Strength and conditioning coach Sina Ghami, and personal trainer Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele, had both helped him prepare for his fight against Paul just weeks earlier.
Following the tragic accident, boxing legend Tyson Fury also released a statement.
“This is so sad,” the former heavyweight world champion wrote. “May God give them a good bed in heaven.”
Who died in the accident?
Following the accident, Lagos state commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement: “Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends.
“They were being prepared for repatriation scheduled for later this evening.”
Matchroom boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, who has worked closely with Joshua and his team, paid tribute to the lives lost.
He said: “Rest in peace Latz and Sina.
“Your energy and loyalty among so many other great qualities will be deeply missed.
“Praying for strength and guidance for all their family, friends and of course AJ during this very difficult time.”

What caused the deadly crash?
As investigations are underway, police have revealed the cause of the car crash was a tyre blowout, after the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle.
Police Commander Babatunde Akinbiyi noted that the vehicle ‘lost control’ after the car had ‘experienced a tyre burst because of excessive speed.’
An eerie clip has since resurfaced, with users online suggesting that Joshua ‘predicted’ the crash just months ago.
It seems the 36-year-old has long been outspoken about the fragility of life.
The haunting interview
Speaking to BoxingKingMedia in an interview published in May 2025, Joshua said: “I just look at life and I’m like man… this is crazy.
“All of this stuff, believe it or not is a big distraction, in my opinion. Because in the grand scheme of things, everything that I chase and everything that I want to own to make me feel relevant on this earth, is not so important, because I can’t take it with me.”
The grounded star added: “All that’s guaranteed is death. All that’s going to be important is just living to the best of our capability.
“Ain’t it mad how fast life will go? We’ll be old, and one day all that will matter is living to the best of our capability.”
Extracts from an interview we did with Anthony Joshua a few months ago, it shows that he is a very philosophical young man who appreciates everything he has been gifted with in life.
