Avicii’s Ex-Girlfriend Emily Goldberg Has Died Aged 34
Emily Goldberg, the ex-girlfriend of music icon Avicii, has died aged 34.
The tragic news comes six years after the shocking death of DJ giant Avicii.
Goldberg, who was dating the 28-year-old Swedish music star between 2011 and 2013, has had her death confirmed by her parents.
Many fans of the late DJ, who died in 2018, have flooded the comment section of Goldberg’s post, sharing messages of condolences to her family.
Avicii, whose real name was Tim Bergling, was a Swedish DJ, remixer, record producer, and musician.
Born on September 8, 1989, in Stockholm, Sweden, he gained worldwide fame in the early 2010s for his electronic dance music (EDM) tracks.
Avicii’s breakthrough came with his single ‘Levels’ in 2011, which became a massive hit and is often considered one of the defining tracks of the EDM era.
Despite his success, Avicii struggled with health issues and the pressures of his demanding career.

He retired from touring in 2016, citing the need to focus on his health and well-being.
Tragically, he died by suicide on April 20, 2018, at the age of 28.
His family released an open letter after his death calling him a ‘fragile artistic soul’.
They said, via NPR: “He truly battled thoughts about the Meaning, Life, Happiness.
“He could not go on any more. He wanted peace. Tim was not made for the machinery he ended up in, he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans, but shunned the spotlight.”
And now, Avicii’s ex-girlfriend Emily Goldberg has also passed away.
Goldberg was devastated by the unexpected passing of her former partner.
In the days following his death, she posted numerous text messages exchanged between them and shared photographs capturing their time together.
In her captions, she openly admitted to grappling with the surrealness of the news, expressing her reluctance to accept it.
“’Come on babe, don’t give up on us. Choose me, and I’ll show you love’. Those are lyrics from a song Tim wrote for me. I wish I could have lived up to them. For the two years we were together, he was my closest confidante and my best friend. Now I can’t look at Bear (his dog, a Pomeranian) without knowing I’ll never see his face again. I’m still collecting my thoughts and thank you for all your kind words and texts. Wake me up when it’s all over because I don’t want it to be real,” she penned.
She often shared old photos of them together on September 8, for his posthumous birthdays.
Now, people are taking to Goldberg’s comments to pay tribute following news of her tragic passing.
“Hope you’re reunited with your soulmate Tim and you’re both enjoying rest and peace,” one person writes.
“Rest in peace,” another adds.
A third pens: “My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones so sorry for your loss. Rest in peace, Emily.”
Goldberg celebrated being ‘cancer-free’ with an Instagram post dated May 24, 2023, writing: “I have had cancer for the past year. I am now cancer-free.”
Tragically, the 34-year-old died of a pulmonary embolism on April 3, six years after the death of Avicii, News.com.au reports.
“A pulmonary embolism is a blood clot that blocks and stops blood flow to an artery in the lung. In most cases, the blood clot starts in a deep vein in the leg and travels to the lung,” per Mayo Clinic.
Describing her as ‘vivacious’, Goldberg’s family said in a statement that she was a ‘unique person who experienced many adventures in her all too brief life’.
Goldberg is survived by her parents, Julie and Sam Goldberg of La Jolla, and brother Aaron Goldberg of Chicago, Illinois.
Rest in peace.
