Bam Margera Issues Terrifying Health Update And Leaves Fans Devastated
Bam Margera has issued a devastating health update as he reveals he won’t be filming any new stunts for the upcoming Jackass movie.
Fans of the franchise will be well aware of the extreme lengths the 46-year-old has gone to over the years in the name of entertainment, from having his butt cheek branded on a cattle farm to nearly breaking his neck while crashing a golf cart.
However, behind the scenes, the stuntman has faced a myriad of health issues relating to drug and alcohol addiction, which led to multiple rehab stints and ongoing legal troubles.
His co-star Steve-O previously revealed Bam didn’t appear in their 2022 reunion Jackass Forever because he was unable to stay sober while they were filming, prompting fears he could die
The pair have remained close friends over the years, with Bam even going on tour with his pal in 2023, however he has been less than complimentary about other members of the team after he was cut from the movie.
Bam’s terrifying health update
It seems as though the Jackass crew’s fears weren’t misplaced, after Bam revealed he came close to losing both of his legs after his alcohol addiction led to them becoming ‘dry rotted.’
“You know, in 2013 the doctor said they were dry-rotted rubber bands from alcohol abuse so I kind of lost hope, but now they are 100 again,” he explained in an interview with TMZ last year.
“I’m skating again. My passion’s back and I know that if I just focus on skateboarding then everything else comes along with it.
“You know I got lost for a little while and I didn’t skate for 10 years. I realised: ‘What made me happy? What got me to where I was then?’ and it was skateboarding.”

Steve-O ‘braced for Bam’s death’
While appearing on stage alongside Bam during his 2023 tour, 51-year-old Steve-O made a heartbreaking admission about his long-term friend’s future health.
“It’s become extremely uncomfortable to be braced for the news of your death, Bam,” the performer told his pal.
“I’ve been bracing myself for that f***ing awful news and I can’t stand it, man. So I wanted you to come on tour, stay close to me, see what’s possible, help you put together an act of your own.”
He went on: “You’ve got this arc. All these funny bits and jokes and stories. It all doesn’t mean s*** if it doesn’t have a happy ending where you f***ing come out the other end happy and healthy and a good father and f***ing thriving in your career. And that is what I want for you brother.”
Bam won’t be filming new Jackass stunts
While Bam’s health is currently in a significantly better place, having been sober for around two years and encouraged by rediscovering his passion for skateboarding, the performer has revealed he won’t be filming any new stunts for the upcoming movie.
As hype continues to build for Jackass 5, which is set to land on 26 June, the OG cast member has admitted he’s still recovering from the PTSD of being cut from the 2023 film.

“If you had a laundry list of the chain of horrible events of the two years of Covid that they put me through, spending my own money at an alarming rate for therapists, doctors and treatment and all this only to sit me down and tell me you’re not in the movie and you’re not getting five million dollars,” he said.
“I watch Dateline and people kill people for a whole lot less. I have a lot of PTSD from it all and just having the title now of ‘ex-Jackass star Bam Margera,’ I have to live with that. The humiliation, the abandonment and just the embarrassment of it all, I had to let it go.”
That said, the crew did ask Bam to get involved in the newest instalment, however when he declined to film anything new, they asked his permission to sift through old footage to try and find some unseen gems, some of which was ‘too snarly’ to make it into previous edits.
“I remember filming so much crazy s*** that never made it to the movie simply because it was just too long or too gnarly,” he said. “But, I mean, I said yeah. Have at it.”
