Chris Evans Slammed Over ‘Gross’ Age Gap With Wife
Chris Evans is being criticized over his age gap relationship with his wife.
The 44-year-old Hollywood actor, known for portraying Steve Rogers/Captain America in numerous Marvel Cinematic Universe films, is being criticized on social media, as some people insist the star’s age gap with his partner is inappropriate.
“I don’t care what anyone says, this is something. She’s barely starting when he already has a spot in the industry. They’re in different stages of their life,” one person says.
“She wasn’t even born and he was already a teen. I don’t care how mature she is, it’s never been about her, it’s him.”
Another adds: “Their age gap is so icky like I’m sorry but I can’t even think what two people in their age brackets would have in common.”
A third writes: “Age gaps are gross. Even if you’re Chris Evans.”
However, others are leaping to the actor’s defence.
Defending the Knives Out star, one fan says: “Chris Evans has a good reputation, no criminal offenses, no issues with past partners.
“Sure, there is an age gap here but frankly, they look the same age range and they met as proper adults so who are we to judge?
“They both seem nice and I wish Twitter would just let them be happy.”
Another agrees, adding: “I am so damn happy for both of them.”
People magazine reported that Evans was in a relationship in November 2022, with an insider claiming the two had been dating ‘for over a year and [it was] serious.’
“They are in love and Chris has never been happier. His family and friends all adore her,” the source said.
Just months later, it was revealed that the pair’s relationship had developed further.
“Chris and Alba have gotten serious,” an insider told Us Weekly. “This is the most committed anyone can remember him being in a very long time, if not ever.”
In September 2023, Page Six reported that the couple had tied the knot in a private, intimate ceremony.
A source described the occasion as ‘beautiful,’ adding the event was ‘locked down tight.’
In the past, the actor had opened up about his dreams to start a family with People magazine, saying: “That’s absolutely something I want. Wife, kids, building a family.
“When you read about most of the best artists, whether it’s actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn’t the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships, the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared. So it’s also something through my long 41 years that also rings true. Those things are the most important.
“I love the idea of tradition and ceremony, I had a lot of that in my life so the idea of creating that, I can’t think of anything better.”
Evan’s wife is 28-year-old Alba Baptista.
She grew up in Lisbon, Portugal, and speaks five languages, including English, German, French, and Spanish.
The Portuguese-Brazilian actress played the lead role of Ava in the Netflix series Warrior Nun.
Evans and Baptista recently welcomed their first child, a daughter named Alma Grace. She’s reportedly taken both her mom and dad’s last names.
