Chris Hemsworth has sparked outrage after sharing an ‘inappropriate’ photo of his son.

The actor, along with his wife, Elsa Pataky, and their three children, is currently on vacation in Japan.

Hemsworth shared snapshots from their trip on Instagram, capturing moments from their family getaway.

The couple, who are parents to 12-year-old India Rose and 11-year-old twin boys, Sasha and Tristan, posted a series of images from their trip.

However, one particular photo caught the attention of fans.

This sparked a wave of reactions in the comments section, with opinions ranging from amusement to criticism.

The actor and his wife, who met in 2010 through his talent agent, married just three months after meeting.

They welcomed their daughter in 2012 and their twin sons in 2014.

Throughout their trip, Hemsworth also shared images of himself enjoying some relaxation time, including a hot tub session where he showcased his toned physique – but one image has caused major controversy.

One user humorously remarked: “Not that – that’s ghetto,” while another commented that it was ‘humorous’ how upset some people were about the gesture.

Others were more critical, with one sarcastically writing: “Nice thing to be teaching kids, really. So inappropriate.”

Another follower added a simple heart and hands-up emoji, showing support for the family’s lighthearted approach.

Some defended the actor and his family, arguing that people were overreacting.

“Yes! Love this – keep being real. Love you and your entire family,” one supporter commented.

Another person suggested, “Let’s normalize letting kids do this. Smdh.”

However, not everyone found the image appropriate.

“Posting a picture of your son doing the middle finger is not funny, and I’m not a Karen. I’m a mama who would never let my son do that, period. It’s inappropriate,” one person expressed.

Another wrote: “Love all the pics… except when your kid was giving the finger.”

In addition to the controversial photo, the couple also shared a selfie from a restaurant, where Hemsworth was seen wearing a beanie with a playful patch reading: “Born to board. Forced to work.”

Another image captured one of their sons making a hand symbol resembling a gun. The family also took the opportunity to celebrate the twin boys’ 11th birthday while abroad.

Reactions to the photo continued to pour in, with one person adding: “My kids love giving me the middle finger salute too. It’s all about context, and it is not at all suggestive of their behavior.

“My kids are polite, well-behaved, and exemplary students who would never be disrespectful to anyone. I’m guessing this is a joke and should be taken as such.”
