Elliot Page claims he and his Juno co-star slept together ‘all the time’ while filming.

Page, 37, is an award-winning actor, who has starred in movies such as Hard Candy, X-Men: The Last Stand and Inception.

He also plays Viktor Hargreeves in the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy.

Outside of his acting work, Page is an outspoken activist, speaking out in favour of the Me Too movement, advocating for abortion rights and calling out discriminatory legislation towards the trans community.

In 2014, Page – who presented as female at the time – came out as gay and then, in 2020, he came out as a trans man, specifying his pronouns and revealing his new name.

“Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot. I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life,” he said in his announcement.

“I love that I am trans. And I love that I am queer. And the more I hold myself close and fully embrace who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and the more I thrive.

“To all trans people who deal with harassment, self-loathing, abuse and the threat of violence every day: I see you, I love you and I will do everything I can to change this world for the better.”

Page has spoken out further about his life in the memoir ‘Pageboy’.

It touches on his falling in love with actress Kate Mara, the alleged abuse he suffered at the hands of some of Hollywood’s stars and his time working on Juno – during which he apparently slept with a co-star.

Page says he was taken aback by the actress’ mature and centred demeanour, despite them being the same age.

He felt a palpable chemistry between them and recounts a moment in her hotel room when she confessed her attraction to him.

“It was on. I had an all-encompassing desire for her, she made me want in a way that was new, hopeful,” the Whip It actor said (via Page Six). “It was one of the first times someone would make me c**, the first time I would open up.”

Page reciprocated those feelings and described a passionate connection between them, noting that she helped alleviate his shame and insecurities.

“Her hotel room, in our trailers at work, once in a tiny, private room in a restaurant… We thought we were being subtle,” he recalled.

“Being intimate with her helped my shame dissipate. I didn’t see a glint of it in her eyes and I wanted that – done feeling wretched about who I am.”

Page expresses that being intimate with his co-star made him feel less ashamed of himself, as he saw no judgment or negativity in her eyes.

The actress in question is now 37-year-old Olivia Thirlby, who played Juno’s best friend Leah in the film.

Thirlby publicly identified as bisexual in 2011, telling Brooklyn Magazine: “No one should have to hide their sexual orientation.

“Loving people is a necessary part of being human, and it is very difficult to love people in secret. It’s a horrible thing to force people to do.

“And I am not 100% straight… I’m so lucky to have a job where it’s OK for me not to be in the closet.”

Thirlby has been married to fellow actor Jacques Pienaar since 2014.
