Fitness Influencer Has Died Aged 43
Fitness influencer Miguel Angel Aguilar has died aged 43.
Aguilar, 43, died on December 21, 2024, as announced by his fitness company, Self Made Training Facility, on social media.
“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our founder and CEO, Miguel Angel Aguilar,” the company shared in a heartfelt Instagram post.
The post described Aguilar as more than a leader: “He was a visionary, an inspiration, a mentor, a father, a husband, family, and a dear friend to many.”
It praised his significant contributions to the fitness industry, stating: “Miguel’s unwavering dedication to Self Made Training Facility, his passion for the fitness industry, and entrepreneurial spirit have left an enduring legacy.”
Aguilar was credited with transforming personal training and motivating many through his innovative approach and social media presence, where he had amassed 50,000 followers.
The announcement added: “As we mourn the loss of our dear friend and leader, we also celebrate his extraordinary life and the positive impact he had on so many. Miguel’s spirit will live on through Self Made Training Facility.”
The renowned fitness influencer passed away three months after being critically injured during a robbery in Los Angeles, California.
“After a courageous three-month battle following the tragic incident that took place on September 13, 2024, Miguel peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones,” Self Made explained.
The tragic events unfolded on September 13, 2024, when Aguilar and his wife, celebrity hairstylist Priscilla Valles, were ambushed by four armed individuals in the driveway of their Bel-Air residence, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
Aguilar was shot multiple times, including in the face, during the violent confrontation. The assailants fled the scene, and Aguilar was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
At the time, his fitness company revealed on Instagram that he had been involved in a ‘serious incident; and was fighting for his life in the ICU.
The post requested prayers and support for Aguilar and his family while urging respect for their privacy.
Authorities later arrested three suspects linked to the robbery and shooting. They now face charges of murder, attempted robbery, and assault with a firearm.
Aguilar’s legacy lives on through Self Made Training Facility and the community he built.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
