Another devastated fan wrote: “She gave standing ovations, now heaven’s got front row seats.”
Acting career
The star began her career in 1967 and went on to enjoy a successful run in Hollywood, particularly on Broadway.
In a previous interview with Whats On Stage, the star was asked about her career highlights, and she responded: “The original production of Brighton Beach Memoirs was definitely a highlight.
“I was in it for a very long time, and there were a lot of cast changes, so we were in rehearsal all the time, trying to put new people in.”

As well as winning a Tony award for Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, she also won an Obie Award in 1980 for her portrayal of a nun in Christopher Durang’s Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All for You.
Miller himself was outspoken about her portrayal, previously stating: “She has discovered in the role the basic underlying powerful protectiveness, which comes out as fury, and that in the past, in every performance I know of, was simply washed out.”
Health battle
The late star’s husband, Christopher Pelham, confirmed that the actress had been battling cancer for some time.
Her cause of death was cancer and a severe reaction to her treatment medication, he noted.
Prior to her death, it’s believed the actress did not speak about her cancer battle publicly.
Best known role
Elizabeth Franz, who passed at the age of 84, was best known for her role in Gilmore Girls.
Franz portrayed Mia Bass in the TV series, the owner of the Independence Inn, serving as a maternal figure and guide to Lorelai (Lauren Graham) upon her arrival in Stars Hollow.
