Guy Fieri has revealed the strict rule his kids have to follow if they want to receive his ‘$70 million’ inheritance.

Fieri, 55, is a renowned celebrity chef and has appeared on numerous popular TV shows throughout his career – including Guy’s Big Bite, Dinner: Impossible and Minute to Win It.

He has amassed a fortune from owning multiple restaurants and his career in television – recently, he reportedly signed a $100 million contract with Food Network, as per Variety.

However, it seems that Fieri will not be leaving any of his fortune to his children.

Fieri and his wife Lori, 52, share sons Hunter, 27, and Ryder, 17, as well as his nephew Jules, 22, whom he’s helped raise since the death of his sister Morgan in 2011.

The Emmy-award-winning presenter has an estimated net worth of $70 million, according to Parade.

But Fieri has reportedly told his children they will not be inheriting any of his fortune unless they have gone to school.

Speaking to Fox News, the TV personality explained: “I’ve told them the same thing my dad told me. My dad says, ‘When I die, you can expect that I’m going to die broke, and you’re going to be paying for the funeral’.

“And I told my boys, ‘None of this that we’ve been… that I’ve been building are you going to get unless you come and take it from me’.”

Fieri added that his youngest son – who is a high school senior – isn’t too keen on his idea.

He continued, adding that Ryder said to him: “Dad, this is so unfair. I haven’t even gone to college yet, and you’re already pushing that I’ve got to get an MBA? Can I just get through college?”

The Ace of Cakes star shared that he got the idea from former NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal – who also said that he wouldn’t be giving his children any of his inheritance unless they get two degrees.

“Shaq said at best,” he added. “Shaq said, ‘If you want this cheese, you got to get to two degrees’.  Well, my two degrees mean, you know, postgraduate.”

While Fieri’s youngest son pushed back against the idea, both his eldest and nephew have taken the star up on his offer – Jules studying for a law degree while Hunter is studying for a master’s degree in business.

In an interview with People magazine, Fieri opened up about his new Food Network contract, saying he is ‘very humbled’ by the $100 million deal – which comes after he inked an $80 million deal in 2021.

Fieri said: “I’m so appreciative. I really feel fortunate. I started at the Food Network almost 17, 18 years ago. And never thought anything like this was ever coming my way.”

He went on to say that had always wanted to own his own restaurant, as well as be a great dad.
