Hannah Einbinder Reveals What She Said In Her Censored Emmys Speech
Actress Hannah Einbinder has revealed what exactly was said in her censored Emmys acceptance speech.
The 30-year-old actress won Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at last night’s Emmy Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles.
The star-studded night made numerous headlines, including Adolescence‘s Owen Cooper becoming the youngest male actor to ever win an Emmy Award.
The 15-year-old was named Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for his portrayal of a schoolboy accused of murdering a female classmate.
But while there was very little controversy throughout the evening, viewers were left confused after actress Einbinder’s acceptance speech was censored by CBS.
But backstage, the star revealed exactly what she said, and stressed the importance of her message.

She won the award for her portrayal of comedy writer Ava Daniels in Hacks.
In her speech she thanked her Emmy-winning Hacks colleague Jean Smart, and series creators Paul W. Downs and Jen Statsky ‘for changing my life in every conceivable way.’
In a final remark which was censored by the network, she added: “I just want to say, finally, Go Birds, F*** ICE, and Free Palestine. Thank you!”
‘Go Birds’ was a football cheer for the Philadelphia Eagles, while her comment about the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) was slightly more charged.
ICE has recently escalated raids in the U.S., broadened arrests, and cracked down in ways critics see as cruel.
The actress also called for a ‘Free Palestine,’ and urged the importance of doing so, particularly as a Jewish person.
Backstage, she said: “I thought it was important to talk about Palestine because it’s an issue that’s very near and dear to my heart.”

She added: “For many reasons, I feel like it is my obligation as a Jewish person to distinguish Jews from the state of Israel because our religion, and our culture, is such an important and longstanding institution that is really separate to this sort of ethno-nationalist state.”
Einbinder also gave a shoutout to the Film Workers for Palestine, drawing attention to their mission to create pressure on ‘institutions that are directly complicit in the genocide’ via boycott.
The 30-year-old has always been open about her strong ties with Judaism and faith, but has never been afraid to comment on social justice issues like the war in Gaza.
And she wasn’t the only star supporting the ‘Free Palestine’ movement at the awards ceremony, fellow Hacks actor Megan Stalter wore a purse with ‘Ceasefire! written on it.
Spanish actor Javier Bardem, who was nominated for his performance in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, said on the red carpet that he ‘cannot work with someone who justifies or supports the genocide.’
