Heartbreaking Reason Morgan Freeman Was Wearing A Single Glove At Oscars
The heartbreaking reason Morgan Freeman wore a single glove at the Oscars has been revealed.
Freeman, 87, has been acting since he was a child and has become a powerhouse within the industry.
Starring in over 110 movies, he is best known for his roles in The Shawshank Redemption, Seven, Oscar-winning Million Dollar Baby, and Street Smart.
Last night’s award show saw the biggest names in Hollywood come together to celebrate the most outstanding films of the year.
And viewers were quick to point out part of Freeman’s outfit.

One person writes on social media: “Why is Morgan Freeman wearing a glove?”
Another user adds: “Just found out why he wears a glove, I feel bad for him.”
“He is one of my favorite actors. I didn’t even know this was the reason he wears a glove,” somebody else says.
Freeman presented the annual ‘In Memoriam’ segment at the 2025 Oscars ceremony.
This was particularly close to the actor’s heart as his friend, Hollywood legend, Gene Hackman, was among the names on this year’s list.
Freeman starred alongside Hackman in Unforgiven and Under Suspicion, and paid a special tribute to the late actor.
“This week, our community lost a giant. And I lost a dear friend, Gene Hackman,” Freeman said as he became visibly emotional.

Hackman had been found dead in his house in New Mexico alongside his wife, Betsy Arakawa, and their pet dog, with the couple’s cause of death still undetermined as of yet.
As Freeman stood on the stage during the memorial segment, the actor kept his hands clasped behind his back.
The Going In Style star wore a black glove over one hand, which he has been spotted wearing many times during public appearances.
In 2008, he was involved in a car crash, which left him in ‘a serious condition,’ The Guardian reported.
The car that Freeman had been driving flipped over several times near his home in Charleston, Mississippi.
The actor had to be cut free by emergency workers before being airlifted to a hospital.

The Charleston Sun Sentinel reported that, at the scene: “They had to use the jaws of life (hydraulic cutters) to extract him from the vehicle.
“He was lucid, conscious. He was talking, joking with some of the rescue workers at one point,” per The Guardian.
Since the accident, Freeman has dealt with a long-term health problem, which he revealed in an interview with Esquire.
The actor suffers from fibromyalgia stemming from nerve damage he sustained during the accident, which left his hand paralyzed.

Mayo Clinic defines the medical issue as a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory, and mood issues.
Researchers believe that fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way your brain and spinal cord process painful and non-painful signals.
Symptoms often begin after an event, such as physical trauma, surgery, infection, or significant psychological stress.
Freeman has revealed he wears the compression glove to keep the blood flowing.
The Hollywood star told People: “I suffered nerve damage, and it hasn’t gotten better. I can’t move it.
“If you don’t move your hand, it will swell up. Do you know you move your hand about a million times a day?”
