Influencer Known For Eating Makeup Has Died Aged 24
A popular influencer, known for ‘tasting’ beauty products, has sadly died at the age of 24.
Guava Beauty, whose real name was Guava Shuishui, became famous for snacking on her products as she tested them.
She built up thousands of followers on Instagram from her quirky videos, where she would regularly try to eat the beauty products.
She would regularly try a product as it was intended, before tasting it, much to the horror of many fans who tried to warn her against it.
Guava, who hailed from Taiwan, went viral for her ‘mukbang’ videos, a genre where content creators eat noisily on camera.
Most film themselves eat vast quantities of food, but this creator went for something more unusual.
Guava was regularly seen eating lipstick, face masks, blusher, and even cotton pads.
As well as sampling the beauty product to enhance her looks, the content creator decided to taste them as well.
A post was shared on Guava’s account announcing the sad news, and when translated into English, it says she died on May 24 following a ‘sudden illness,’ with no further explanation.
The influencer’s family shared a statement on Instagram: “Although this came suddenly, Shuishui held on to every moment just like she has always been – hard-working, serious, and shining.
“Thank you to everyone who has liked, left a message, and laughed with her, and thank you for your love and support. She really kept it in her heart and cherished it very much.”
They concluded: “Guava Shuishui simply continues to glow in a different place. When we meet again one day, she should be unboxing angels’ exclusive makeup for eating broadcasts.”
Guava’s profile bio also changed to: “Logging out from the world. Setting off on a new journey. All business collaborations are suspended.”
Her cause of death has not been confirmed on any of her social media accounts.
She posted on her content that fans under six shouldn’t watch her content in case they copy her, as she did not want youngsters to be influenced to eat things they shouldn’t.
One fan pleaded previously: “Please can you stop this behavior… You can eat in private, you can eat whatever you like. Really don’t promote the act of eating make-up.”
“It’s still toxic, be careful,” added another, while one mused: “I can understand that although it is inevitable to eat some lipstick, it’s bad to eat it deliberately – please don’t promote the act.”
“Why are you doing this?” asked another, while one fan praised her creativity saying it was ‘harmless fun’ and something that should be celebrated for doing something different in the online space.
