Influencer Laleska Alexandre has tragically died aged 28.
The Brazillian content creator gained a following of almost 26,000 on Instagram, where she shared inspiration and styling tips.
She was also the CEO of the marketing agency Agência Laleska Alexandre and headed clothing brands La Vestiaire and La Brand Brasil.
After hearing the devastating news of the 28-year-old’s passing, tributes are pouring in from fans.
One follower says: “So sad. RIP. May she rest in peace. Prayers for her family.”
Another adds: “Very sad to hear this.’
“This is heartbreaking, so young and so beautiful,” a third comments.
“Absolutely tragic news, may she rest in peace,” a fourth says.
A fifth fan types: “I can’t believe it! Laleska will always be a great inspiration.”
Alexandre’s friends have also taken to social media and paid tribute, with one penning: “I love you forever, I will remember you as the sweet, faithful, determined, hard-working girl who never gave up in the face of adversity, who always tried her best.”
Another close friend has posted: “I lost a part of myself and the pain I feel is physical. I lost my soul sister. My friend-daughter. The friend I NEVER let go of. I fought, loved, praised, hugged, corrected, forgave, corrected again, gave guidance, and was always supportive and company.”
Alexandre’s cousin, Karízia Temóteo, told CNN Brasil that the 28-year-old had been admitted to the emergency room in Cariri, Brazil, on February 2 after complaining of severe cramps.
O Globo reports that the influencer had a tubo-ovarian abscess (TOA), which the National Institutes of Health defines as a ‘severe complication of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) that predominantly affects s**ually active women of reproductive age.’
The NIH description also says: “This condition is characterized by an inflammatory mass in the fallopian tubes and ovaries, often filled with pus, typically resulting from an ascending infection of the upper g**ital tract.”
Alexandre was transferred to Cariri Regional Hospital after arriving at the emergency room.
She underwent emergency surgery when doctors discovered the infection but ‘it was already at an advanced stage.’
Sadly, the influencer passed away at 5 a.m. on February 5 in Juazeiro do Norte.
