Insiders claim J.K. Rowling has a chance for ‘revenge’ against the three child actors who ‘ruined’ the old Harry Potter movies for her.

The wizarding world of Harry Potter has been at the forefront of many fans’ minds since HBO announced its seven-season adaptation of the beloved books.

From casting rumors to worries that the show will cloud fans’ love for the original films, fans have been speculating.

The HBO series will reportedly cost more than $200 million per season, and filming will start this year in the U.K.

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint gained worldwide recognition at a young age when they took on the three lead roles in the original films.

Rowling’s novels put them on the big screen for the world to see, and the young actors dedicated most of their childhoods to the story.

Yet in recent years, the actors have distanced themselves from the author following her controversial takes online regarding s** and gender.

It all started in 2020 when Rowling took to X (formerly Twitter) and retweeted an op-ed in which ‘people who menstruate’ were discussed. She took issue with the fact that it didn’t say ‘women.’

“‘People who menstruate,'” she said. “I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?”

Rowling refused to back down on her words and continued: “If s** isn’t real, there’s no same-s** attraction. If s** isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased.

“I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of s** removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn’t hate to speak the truth.”

Radcliffe has previously expressed hope that Rowling’s comments would not ‘taint’ the movie series for fans.

In a statement through the LGBTQ+ s**cide prevention charity The Trevor Project, he said: “I realize that certain press outlets will probably want to paint this as in-fighting between J.K. Rowling and myself, but that is really not what this is about, nor is it what’s important right now.

“While Jo is unquestionably responsible for the course my life has taken, as someone who has been honoured to work with and continues to contribute to The Trevor Project for the last decade, and just as a human being, I feel compelled to say something at this moment.

“Transgender women are women. Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo or I.”

Most recently, Rowling appeared to take aim at Radcliffe, Watson, and Grint in a social media post as she responded to a question about actors who ‘instantly ruin a movie.’

In response to the question, she said: “Three guesses. Sorry, but that was irresistible.”

Now, a MailOnline TV industry insider has revealed Rowling’s feelings towards the upcoming Harry Potter show, claiming: “For J.K., this is a chance to lay the memories of the three leads to rest and start afresh with a whole new cast and fanbase too.

“This is Ms. Rowling’s opportunity to totally eradicate the memories of the old movies and the old cast – with new TV and movie franchises, it brings in new leads, just like with Superman and Batman.”
