Jennifer Lawrence is being trolled on social media over her choice of baby name, as some say it sounds like ‘just a noise.

When it comes to celebrities and baby names, let’s just say things have gotten… unusually creative.

So much so that when Justin and Hailey Bieber welcomed their first child last year, the A-list couple were praised for their ‘normal’ choice of name.

Jack Bieber was born on August 22, 2024, and one user online said: “He’s the only celebrity giving normal name to their kid.”

Another added: “Congrats to the couple! I also appreciate them picking a semi-normal name.”

Other celebrities have opted for more unique names, including influencer Trisha Paytas.

The star has three children, who are named Malibu Barbie, Elvis, and Aquaman Moses.

Now, Lawrence is being hit with backlash.

The Hunger Games star welcomed her first child with her husband, Cooke Maroney, in 2022.

When their baby’s name became public, it led to mixed reactions.

One person asked: “Is this short for something? It feels incomplete.”

Another added: “Sounds more like a noise than a name.”

A third was concerned that the usual name would cause trouble for the child in the future, writing: “What a ridiculous name. This poor child will be bullied, no doubt.”

Still, many came to Lawrence’s defense.

One fan enthused: “Simple, classy, and meaningful. Not every name needs to be traditional!”

Another agreed, saying: “If it’s inspired by art, it’s beautiful and personal.”

In a cover interview with Vogue, Lawrence reflected on being a mom for the first time.

“The euphoria is just – Jesus, it’s impossible,” she shared. “I always tell him, ‘I love you so much it’s impossible.'”

She added: “My heart has stretched to a capacity that I didn’t know about. I include my husband in that.”

The Don’t Look Up actress also revealed that giving birth was a transformative experience.

“The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over. Like, ‘Now is day one of my life,'” she explained.

“I was just so in love. I also fell in love with all babies everywhere. Newborns are just so amazing. They’re these pink, swollen, fragile little survivors.”

Despite her openness, Lawrence has stressed her desire to protect her son’s privacy.

In a previous Vanity Fair interview, she said: “Every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives.”

She added that she avoids including her child in her public work to ensure his life remains as private as possible.

Since then, she has also had another child, whose name she has not revealed publicly.

Seemingly for obvious reasons, following such a bombardment of hate online.

The star named her first child ‘Cy.’

And while many people are hating on the creative name, many fans admire the thought behind it.

For Lawrence, the name holds deep personal significance, aligning with her family’s connection to art and creativity.

The actress explained that the name was inspired by Cy Twombly, a renowned postwar American painter and one of her husband Maroney’s favorite artists.

The Kardashians have also come under fire for their unusual baby names, with Kim naming her first daughter North West.

Tech mogul Elon Musk has arguably named his children the most unique names of all, with one of his sons being called X æ A-xii Musk – who made a recent appearance at the White House.
