Jimmy Buffett’s cause of death has been confirmed after his passing aged 76 last week.
Buffett was a legendary American musician known for his iconic career spanning over six decades.
He gained fame for his tropical rock music, with hits like ‘Margaritaville’.
Throughout his career, Buffett received numerous awards and honours, including a Grammy nomination and an induction into the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame.
Sadly, the world recently bid farewell to the musical maestro.

He had been battling skin cancer for the past four years, a diagnosis that would ultimately lead to his untimely departure, according to reports.
Over time, his condition took a grave turn, culminating in complications from Merkel-cell carcinoma, which is listed as Buffett’s official cause of death.
A close friend of his, speaking to TMZ, said: “He lived his life in the sun, literally and figuratively.”
Buffett had been receiving hospice care since August 28.
The Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney visited Buffett and his family in the final week, apparently serenading them with his musical talents.
The family, in a statement shared on social media, confirmed his death.
They wrote: “Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music, and dogs.
“He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many.”
Buffett’s legacy extends far beyond his music.
With a career spanning six decades, he amassed a remarkable net worth reportedly valued at $1 billion.
His business ventures, including the iconic Margaritaville brand, has left an indelible mark on the entertainment and hospitality industries, showcasing his entrepreneurial prowess alongside his musical genius.

Beyond his professional success, Buffett leaves behind a loving family.
He was married to Jane Slagsvol in 1977 and is survived by their three children: Savannah, Sarah, and Cameron.
Before his marriage to Slagsvol, he was wed to Margie Washichek from 1969 to 1972.
