Johnny Depp Appears In Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty Fashion Show Amid Backlash
Johnny Depp has controversially appeared in Rihanna’s latest Savage X Fenty fashion show.
On Wednesday (November 9), the fourth volume of the ‘Umbrella’ singer’s fashion show landed on Amazon Prime Video.
Pirates of the Caribbean star Depp, 59, makes a half-minute cameo midway through the 40-minute show, making him the first male to model on the 34-year-old’s famous catwalk.
The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory actor is shown surrounded by dancers wearing khaki green clothing, walking towards the camera to the tune of Outkast’s ‘So Fresh, So Clean’.

At the end of his walk, he approaches a tree before leaning against it.
In June, Depp won a defamation case against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, 36, after alleging that she had defamed him in a 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post – in which she suggested she had been the victim of domestic abuse.
While she did not directly name Depp, a jury sided with him and ordered the Aquaman star to pay Depp around $15 million in damages.
However, the jury also awarded Heard $2 million in damages via a simultaneous lawsuit.

Since then, Depp has enjoyed a number of opportunities in the public eye, including going on tour with the legendary rock guitarist, Jeff Beck.
After the actor’s appearance at the fashion show was confirmed last week, his appearance has been met with significant backlash on social media, with fans of Rihanna and her brand particularly unhappy.
It’s A Sin actor and Years & Years frontman Olly Alexander claimed he would stop supporting the Savage X Fenty brand last week.
After expressing his disappointment on Twitter at the news that Depp would be featured in the show, one person replied to him: “But, Savage X Fenty is you baby… you wear it so well.”
Alexander replied: “Thank you, but after this news, I won’t be wearing it anymore.”
Lashing out at Rihanna, one person wrote: “Is this the man you want representing your brand?”
Fans felt so strongly that they even called for a Savage X Fenty boycott, with one person insisting they would never buy any of the products again.
One said: “I’m so glad I never bought any Savage X Fenty stuff and I can’t wait to never buy a Fenty Beauty product again.”

Others suggested that it would have been far more ‘powerful’ for Rihanna, whose ex-boyfriend Chris Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault in 2009, to include Heard on the show instead of Depp.
One person tweeted: “It really sucks because imagine what a powerful statement Rihanna could have made by inviting Amber to be a part of her show.”
Another said that Rihanna should have kept Depp and Heard out of it completely: “How about don’t invite either one of them?
“It should’ve never happened.”
