Kanye West’s Ex Reveals Chilling Reason Behind X-Rated Red Carpet Stunt
Kanye West‘s ex has revealed the chilling reason behind why he ‘dresses his girlfriends in X-rated outfits.’
On the Club Shay Shay podcast, Amber Rose, who dated West from 2008 to 2010, spoke with Shannon Sharpe about her experiences with the ‘I Wonder’ rapper.
Previously, she accused West of bullying her and calling her a ‘pr**titute.’
During the chat, Amber Rose was asked about West’s current wife, Bianca Censori, and her bold fashion choices.
The model recently made headlines after walking the Grammy’s red carpet in a completely see-through dress.
Candidly, Amber Rose stated: “Kanye is for sure dressing her like that. Yeah, he did the same thing to me and Kim. It’s just who he is.”
She elaborated on West’s motivations: “He wants other men to want his woman. That’s what he’s into. He likes that. He likes that men are drooling over his woman. That’s what he’s into.
“He wants all his friends to want to f*** his girlfriend. He wants everybody, when you walk in a room, that his girlfriend or wife is the most desirable.”
Sharpe asked whether Amber Rose followed West’s fashion preferences to please him.
Amber Rose admitted: “I was young, and I’m gonna tell Kanye now, when I’m that young, it’s like, okay, you’re buying me this stuff, I do look pretty and cool. But if you look at old pictures of me when I’m dating Kanye but I’m out by myself, I have all his clothes on.”
The model and TV personality revealed that she often dressed differently when alone.
“I have baggy jeans on, a T-shirt, a big jacket. I raided his closet when he wasn’t home. I would wear all his stuff because I used to hate to dress like a w****,” she recalled.
“I used to hate it, so I used to rebel when he wasn’t home and go in his closet. I’m in sweatpants, usually with some Jordans on, maybe a little dad hat or something. I’m very casual.”
Sharpe referenced an occasion where Amber Rose wore a see-through dress while dating West.
“Yes, I did. I cried. I remember crying,” West’s ex agreed. “I was in like Italy or Paris or something, and I remember crying and arguing with him and being like, I don’t f***ing want to wear this s***, I don’t wanna wear it.”
She added that West insisted it was about fashion and that he was a ‘genius.’
The model summarized: “I still don’t wanna wear it, but I went in wearing it, they ate me up on the internet.”
This isn’t the first time that Amber Rose has spoken about West’s alleged control over her wardrobe.
In March 2024, she told the Just B With Bethenny Frankel podcast: “I am conservative, actually. I have always been conservative since I was young.”
She explained that once she began dating West, she was pushed into a more overtly s**ualized image.
“That was my first relationship with a celebrity ever but also in the public eye. And he knows a lot about fashion, and he always wanted me to dress very s**y,” Amber Rose explained.
She described how, even after their breakup, the image he cultivated for her persisted.
“So when I was out on my own, without my first relationship, that kind of brought me to the light, that’s what they wanted from me,” Amber Rose recalled.
“I would have producers saying, ‘We want to do this video for MTV, and we want you at the pool, with a bikini on, martini in your hand.’
“And I’m like, ‘Ugh, I’m so not her.’ Like, I’m so not her, and I get what I come off as, but I am so not her. And they’re like, ‘Well, I guess you don’t want to do it then.'”
Amber Rose also spoke about the rapper’s continued treatment of her after their breakup, particularly his attempts to shame her.
In a resurfaced interview from the No Jumper podcast, she remarked: “I’m a compassionate person, I have empathy. I’m a good person. That’s why people love me. That’s why anybody I’ve ever dated always loved me.”
She alleged that West bullied her for years after their split, stating: “That’s what narcissists do, right? You share two years with someone, you take them around the world, you buy the jewelry, you shout out to the world how much you love them…
“And how much fun you have with this person, and then the person decides that this is not what they want their life to be. I opted out.”
One of West’s most infamous comments about Amber Rose came when he claimed he took ’30 showers’ after being with her, MailOnline reports.
Referencing this, the model said: “But to shame me and say you needed 30 showers, it’s like, bro. Took me around the world, since when do you need 30 showers? I could see if it was a one-night thing and you want to s*** shame me, okay. But you’ve done a lot for me.”
She concluded by asking West to leave her alone, adding: “Even if somebody is picking on me, which he has for 10 years. He has bullied me for 10 years. Ten years later, just leave me alone. I don’t bother you. I don’t talk about you.”
Amber Rose isn’t the only ex of West’s to speak out about how the rapper dressed them.
West’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, appeared on Live With Kelly and Michael in 2015 and opened up about the musician revamping her entire wardrobe.
“I walked in my room, and there was an entire room filled with all new clothes and all the stuff he wanted to fill back up my closet with, and it was really cool new designers – I hadn’t even heard of some of these designers before,” she recalled.
“It really helped me fall in love with fashion. I eventually did get rid of most of that stuff, and my style has totally evolved and changed, but I didn’t see it at the time; I had to work it out myself.”
