Kanye West Has Come Out
Kanye West has come out, announcing his s**uality to the world.
Rapper and fashion mogul West ignited a media firestorm on May 2 after making comments in a livestreamed rant that many interpreted as him coming out.
The 47-year-old artist, dressed in a black outfit with a face mask, spoke about his frustrations over limited access to his four children, whom he shares with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, before ending the two-minute tirade with a cryptic statement.
The ambiguity only added to the polarizing reactions the rapper has become known for in recent years.
Adding to the controversy, West had posted to his X account the previous week about a disturbing incident involving a male cousin.
The now-deleted post described a traumatic and graphic childhood experience, ending with the line: “My name is Ye and I sucked my cousin’s d*** till I was 14.”
The post appeared as part of the rollout for a new song titled COUSINS.
The bizarre behavior comes amid a bitter custody battle with Kardashian, 44.
“I’mma go get these kids, bro,” West said in the same livestream. “I’m talking to the lawyers—it gets to the point where I don’t lose my f***in’ mind where I got to get used to not seeing my kids.”
He credited hip-hop commentator DJ Akademiks for motivating him, saying, “Akademiks put that battery in my back, bro – ‘cause I was in the airport by myself… I’mma go get these kids, man!”
West and Kardashian, who finalized their divorce in 2022, share four children: North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5.
Despite having agreed to joint custody, the relationship between the two remains strained.
West has publicly accused Kardashian of withholding access to their children, though photos obtained by the Daily Mail contradict his claim that he hasn’t seen them this year.
West has also come under fire for antisemitic posts and offensive merchandise. His Yeezy site was taken down by Shopify earlier this year for selling a shirt emblazoned with a swastika, which he advertised during the Super Bowl.
He later said: “Next year I’m performing at the Super Bowl wearing my wittle T-shirt.”
Sources close to Kardashian have told DailyMail.com that she is ‘absolutely horrified’ by West’s recent behavior and has ramped up security for herself and their children.
“I ain’t got no motherf* legacy n, why the f you think I am s****ing out,” West said. He followed up with the line: “I’m gay. [inaudible] in charge of my legacy, and I’m gay. I’m in charge of my legacy.”
The clip, which quickly went viral, triggered confusion online as social media users debated whether West had said ‘I’m gay’ or was instead repeating ‘I’m Ye,’ his legally changed name.
In another post, he shared a rainbow emoji along with the phrase, ‘This is my new logo,’ further fueling speculation about his s**uality.
Yet shortly after, he appeared to say that he was not gay.
