It follows the true life story of a youth minister named Greg Laurie during the late 1960s and 1970s.

Grammer plays pastor Chuck Smith in the movie and he helps the youth minister to spread the Christian movement across the US.

In an interview with US Today, the Like Father star says he has experienced ‘tragic times’ throughout his life and religion has helped him find ‘great peace in my faith and Jesus’.

He says: “Sometimes rejecting faith, sometimes rejecting God even, in a period of being pretty angry about it. Like, ‘Where were you?’. That kind of thing. But I have come to terms with it and have found great peace in my faith and in Jesus.

“It’s not cavalier – Jesus made a difference in my life. That’s not anything I’ll apologise for.”

Grammer adds that his wife, Kayte Walsh, says it’s the ‘best thing’ he’s ever done.

According to MailOnline, Grammer’s comedy-drama has defied expectations and raked in a staggering $15 million on its opening weekend.

Analysts reportedly estimated that the movie would accumulate between $6 to $7 million during its first weekend.

Amid the release of Jesus Revolution, Grammer is also set to star in the reboot of Frasier, which is due to come out later this year.

In an interview with People, the 68-year-old reveals that the revival has been being discussed for ‘six or seven years’.

“It’s been on the slow burner,” he says. “We were like, this is not a bad idea. Maybe this is a good idea!”

It’s believed that Grammer is the only character from the original series who will be returning from the original series.

While John Mahoney, who played Frasier and Niles’ father Martin, passed away in 2018.

Moose the dog, who played Eddie, also died in 2006.

Hyde Pierce said in a 2022 interview that he knows little about the upcoming revival.

He says: “It’s happening, but I don’t know in what form, and I don’t know when, so I don’t know where I’ll be and what I’ll be doing.

“I’m certainly interested to see what they come up with.”
