Kim Kardashian Slammed For ‘Insane’ Tribute To Late Grandmother
Kim Kardashian has been criticized on social media after sharing a rather bizarre tribute to her grandmother, Mary Jo Campbell – known better as MJ – following her death on July 16.
The Kardashian-Jenner matriarch passed away at the age of 91, with her daughter Kris Jenner sharing the sad news on social media.
“Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ,” the 70-year-old momager wrote on Instagram on Thursday, July 16.
Kris continued: “There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye. My mom was the heart of our family.
“She taught me everything that truly matters… to love your family fiercely, to be kind, to show up for the people you love, and to never take a single moment together for granted.
“She taught us that family is everything. She showed us how to love unconditionally and how to find joy in the little moments. She showed me how to face life’s challenges with resilience and faith.”
Kris went on to thank her mom for ‘every sacrifice’ she made, as well as all the wisdom she shared.
MJ regularly appeared on both Keeping Up With the Kardashians and The Kardashians, alongside daughter Kris and her grandchildren, Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Rob, Kendall and Kylie.
Khloe Kardashian shares emotional tribute
Khloe Kardashian led the family’s tributes by taking to Instagram to share a heartfelt message for her beloved grandmother.
The 42-year-old thanked MJ for ‘showing us that life is meant to be celebrated, that laughter is healing, and that love is the greatest legacy we can leave behind. You lived so fully, so gracefully, and so beautifully.’
“One of my greatest blessings will always be that my children knew their great-grandmother. That they experienced your hugs, your stories, your joy, and the incredible light you carried so effortlessly,” she penned.
“You taught us that love never leaves. It lives on in the family you built, the traditions we’ll continue, the stories we’ll tell, and every time we choose joy. Your love will forever be woven into who we are.”
Khloe, who has two children of her own, thanked MJ ‘for every lesson, every laugh, every embrace, and every piece of your heart you gave so freely.’

Kim Kardashian also shared an emotional message honoring her grandmother on social media.
“My sweet Grandma MJ, my best friend, my gossip buddy, my forever twin,” she wrote.
“You taught all of us the importance of family, and those values are something we’ll carry with us forever!!!!!”
Kim recalled how MJ gave her her first job working at her store in San Diego, adding: “You were the woman who showed me what it meant to be a hardworking businesswoman and taught me lessons about work ethic, strength, and confidence that I’ve carried with me ever since.”
“You always believed in me, championed me, and were my safe place. You truly were the matriarch of our family, and your love is woven into all of us. I know you’re at peace now,” she added.
“I know you are up in heaven, looking at all of our Instagram posts of you from your sneaky finsta account you would always use lol.”
Alongside her heartfelt words, Kim shared a number of photos of herself and MJ, along with various other members of the family.
However, there was one picture at the end of the photo dump that got fans talking, and it was of lots of different feet.
“That second to last pic is insane,” one person wrote on X, while another added: “What a bizarre tribute.”
In the picture, Kim, Khloe, Kylie, Kris and MJ’s feet are all labeled by name, but as Kim revealed on her Instagram stories, there was a very specific reason for this.
“Anyone that knows my grandma knows she had the most young, beautiful feet in the world and would want everyone to know,” she explained.
It’s certainly not your typical tribute, but if it’s what MJ would’ve wanted then that’s how it should be.
