The Fools Rush In star was found in his jacuzzi at his home in Los Angeles on October 28.
At the time, it was said that first responders were called to the property for a cardiac arrest, as per TMZ.
A police source reportedly said that the incident was treated as a water rescue.
Perry’s official cause of death has now been determined.
According to the autopsy report obtained by People magazine, Perry died due to acute effects of ketamine.
Drowning, coronary artery disease and buprenorphine effects were also listed as contributing factors towards his death.
His death was ruled as an accident.
Ketamine is a dissociative anaesthetic which has some hallucinogenic effects, as per the Drug Fact Sheet.
The US Drug Force Adminstration say it ‘distorts the perception of sight and sound and makes the user feel disconnected and not in control’ and may ‘induce a state of sedation (feeling calm and relaxed), immobility, relief from pain, and amnesia’.
Ketamine may be prescribed as a medical treatment, however, it is unclear if the drugs in Perry’s system were bought using a prescription.
