Yankee Star’s 14-Year-Son’s Cause Of Death Officially Confirmed
The cause of Miller Gardner’s tragic death has been officially confirmed by Costa Rican authorities.
Miller passed away on March 21 while vacationing with his family in Costa Rica.
His body was discovered unresponsive at the Arenas Del Mar Beachfront and Rainforest Resort.
The resort issued a statement expressing condolences, stating: “We deeply regret the recent death of a minor at our facilities due to unconfirmed causes.
“We express our sincere condolences to the child’s family and loved ones in this time of immense grief.”
Initially, authorities suspected asphyxia linked to potential food intoxication, as reported by the OIJ on March 24.
However, police then changed Gardner’s official cause of death after making a shocking discovery.

Miller’s parents, Brett and Jessica Gardner, announced their son’s passing in a heartfelt statement, saying: “With heavy hearts, we are saddened to announce the passing of our youngest son, Miller.
“He was 14 years old and has left us far too soon after falling ill along with several other family members while on vacation.”
They continued, “Miller was a beloved son and brother, and we cannot yet comprehend our life without his infectious smile.
“He loved football, baseball, golf, hunting, fishing, his family, and his friends. He lived life to the fullest every single day.”
As the family navigates this profound loss, they are choosing to honor Miller’s memory.
An obituary published in the Post and Courier of Charleston, South Carolina, on behalf of the family encouraged donations to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
“The Gardners have seen the organization’s impact firsthand on numerous occasions and have always been deeply moved by the hope, strength, and inspiration each wish provides for children and families facing difficult times,” the obituary stated.
“In this time of unimaginable loss, the family prays that joy and healing will come to others who share their grief.”

The 14-year-old son of former New York Yankees player Brett Gardner’s cause of death has been confirmed as carbon monoxide poisoning, as verified by Us Weekly on Wednesday, April 2.
Randall Zúñiga, who serves as the General Director of Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigative Agency (OIJ), disclosed the toxicology findings in a public statement.
“In the carboxyhemoglobin test, a saturation level of 64 percent was found,” Zúñiga stated.
“In such cases, when concentrations exceed 50 percent carboxyhemoglobin, it is considered lethal. In this particular case, with a saturation of 64 percent, the level is clearly well above that lethal threshold.”
The toxicology results supported the preliminary police hypothesis that Miller’s death resulted from exposure to dangerous gases, primarily carbon monoxide.
Zúñiga explained that the forensic process was nearly complete, with the remaining step involving the submission of the toxicology report to the Legal Medicine Department for inclusion in the final autopsy documentation.
Authorities also conducted additional tests, including screenings for substances such as fentanyl, all of which returned negative results, according to Zúñiga.
“This investigation was conducted using strictly scientific methods, which allowed us to uncover the actual cause of death,” he noted.
“During the autopsy, we observed a distinct layer on the organs, which is a key indicator of carbon monoxide poisoning. This finding was visibly evident.”
Further investigation revealed that the hotel room where the family was staying had ‘high levels of carbon monoxide contamination.’
A specialized hazardous atmosphere team, alongside forensic engineers, determined that a nearby machine room might have been responsible for leaking the toxic gas.
