Robert De Niro’s Grandson’s Cause Of Death Shared By Heartbroken Mother
Robert De Niro’s grandson’s cause of death has been shared by his heartbroken mother.
The Godfather Part II star 79, is one the world’s most famous actors and he’s starred in a number of iconic films such as Taxi Driver, Goodfellas and The Irishman.
The two-time Oscar winner has seven children including his eldest daughter, Drena, 51 – from his first marriage to Diahnne Abbott.
Drena recently shared the heartbreaking news that her son, Leonardo De Niro Rodriguez, has sadly passed away aged 19.
Now, she has disclosed his cause of death.

While it is yet to be confirmed by a toxicology report, Drena has claimed that her son took pills laced with fentanyl.
Replying to an Instagram post, she reportedly wrote: “Someone sold him fentanyl-laced pills that they knew were laced yet still sold them to him.
“So for all these people still f***ing around selling and buying this s***, my son is gone forever.”
According to local media (via LBC), New York police are investigating the death as a possible overdose.

News outlets out in the states have also reported that Rodriguez was allegedly found with white powder and drug paraphernalia nearby.
Speaking following his grandson’s death, Robert De Niro said he was ‘deeply distressed’.
He reportedly said: “We’re greatly appreciative of the condolences from everyone. We ask that we please be given privacy to grieve our loss of Leo.”
While Drena has also paid tribute to her son – describing him as his ‘sweet angel’.
She penned on her Instagram: “My beautiful sweet angel. I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly. You have been my joy my heart and all that was ever pure and real in my life.
“I wish I was with you right now. I wish I was with you. I don’t know how to live without you but I’ll try to go on and spread the love and light that you so made me feel in getting to be your mama.
“You were so deeply loved and appreciated and I wish that love alone could have saved you I’m so sorry my baby, I’m so sorry @carlosmare. Rest in Peace and Eternal Paradise my darling boy.”

Leandro was born on June 25, 2004, and followed in his family’s footsteps of becoming an actor and making a name for himself in the film industry.
He starred in A Star Is Born and Cabaret Maxime in 2018 and in 2005, he appeared in The Collection.
