Second Richest Woman Worth $81.6 Billion Is Totally Unknown To Most People
The world‘s second-richest woman, worth $81.6 billion, is unknown to most people.
When you think of the richest women on Earth, names like Rihanna, Beyoncé, or Taylor Swift probably spring to mind.
But it turns out, the second-richest woman in the world is not so well known.
Many haven’t even heard of her, despite her reportedly being worth an unfathomable amount.

Her name is Françoise Bettencourt Meyers, and she’s worth a staggering $81.6 billion.
People have been left baffled by the fact that she’s mostly unknown, despite having such a high net worth.
“I have no idea who she is, I’m sure she doesn’t want to be known,” one person writes.
A second adds: “If I were one of the richest women in the world, I wouldn’t want anyone to know who I was either.”
“Who is she?! What does she do?!” a third questions.

Bettencourt Meyers is the only daughter of André and Liliane Bettencourt.
Her mother was the sole heiress to her father’s empire. Eugène Schueller was the French chemist who founded L’Oreal, a leading company in the cosmetics and beauty industry.
The brand has remained successful by acquiring other brands such as Lancôme in 1964, CeraVe in 2017, and IT Cosmetics in 2016.
Liliane was once the richest woman in the world before she died in 2017; her daughter Bettencourt Meyers then stepped into the jaw-dropping inheritance.
Since inheriting her wealth, L’Oréal’s stock has soared, pushing her wealth into the stratosphere.
Forbes reports that Bettencourt Meyers and her family own more than a third of the publicly traded beauty giant.
The 72-year-old has served on the board since 1997 but announced in February that she would retire in 2025, handing over control to her son, Jean-Victor Meyers.
Forbes estimates her net worth to be $81.6 billion.

Despite Bettencourt Meyers being worth billions, she is almost invisible to the public eye.
She doesn’t do interviews, red carpets, or social media posts, making her an unknown person even within the rich and famous.
Much remains a mystery about the French businesswoman, who famously keeps her personal life private, keeping a low profile away from the limelight.
Instead of fame, the L’Oréal heiress has chosen to focus her time on intellectual pursuits and philanthropy.
She has even authored books on Greek mythology and biblical studies.

L’Oreal and the Bettencourt Meyers family donate $226 million to repair Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris following the 2019 fire.
Bettencourt Meyers was previously the world’s richest woman; however, her fortune declined due to weaker sales, particularly in China, which drove shares down 20%.
Alice Walton, the daughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton, took over the number one spot this year.
The company’s stock grew by 40% making her net worth stand at $101 billion.
