People Are Creeped Out After Finding Out Who Sydney Sweeney Is Dating
Sydney Sweeney is reportedly dating someone new, but fans are creeped out by the news.
At just 28, the actress has cemented her place in Hollywood with standout performances in Euphoria and The White Lotus, both of which earned her widespread acclaim and Emmy nominations.
Yet in recent months, Sweeney has drawn criticism over her highly controversial American Eagle jeans campaign, which sparked widespread media backlash.
The American Eagle ‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans’ campaign was slammed as tone-deaf for its wordplay on ‘genes,’ which many people found problematic for seemingly reinforcing outdated beauty ideals.
But it seems that once again the Immaculate star has found herself in hot water, and this time it’s over reports of who she’s dating.
People have taken to social media to discuss who Sweeney is reportedly dating.
One writes: “Oh girl, this is a RED flag.”
“I don’t get it. She could have chosen anyone else,” another adds.
A third person comments: “I can’t defend her for this.”
Sweeney was previously engaged to businessman Jonathan Davino from 2018 to 2025.
A source told People the A-lister called off her engagement.
“She’s in the middle of this magical career that she could only dream of a few years ago. This is what she wants to focus on right now,” the source claimed.
“She’s not ready to settle down,” the source continued, adding of Sweeney and Davino: “They only lasted for this long because it was hard for her to break it off.
“They didn’t split because there is no love. They split because she just wants to focus on her career right now.”
During the promotional tour for the 2023 romantic comedy Anyone But You, Sweeney and her co-star Glen Powell sparked romance rumors.
Fans began to point out the pair’s closeness in interviews and behind-the-scenes footage from the film.
At the time, the actress was in a long-term relationship, and Powell also had a partner, which fueled cheating speculation.
Following public concern, Sweeney admitted to People that they had intentionally leaned into the rumors to boost the movie’s publicity, stating: “I mean, we sold a rom-com.”
Over the last few weeks, the actress has been spotted on dates with record executive Scooter Braun.
Braun is credited with discovering and managing Justin Bieber in 2008.
Despite being a prominent music manager, he’s a polarizing figure in the entertainment industry.
In 2019, a public feud began with Taylor Swift. His company, Ithaca Holdings, acquired Big Machine Label Group – this meant he obtained the rights to Swift’s first six albums.
The pop star publicly accused Braun of ‘incessant, manipulative bullying.’
She described the acquisition as a ‘betrayal’ and the ‘worst-case scenario’ for her artistry.
Many high-profile clients have since parted ways with Braun’s management firm, including Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, and J Balvin.
Now it seems Sweeney and Braun are dating, as they were pictured hand in hand leaving an art gallery with friends. They later had dinner together, with photographers capturing them.
