The Sopranos Star Has Died
A star of The Sopranos has sadly died.
The Sopranos is an American drama series that follows Tony Soprano, a New Jersey mafia boss who suffers from panic attacks.
He begins seeing a psychiatrist, whom he reluctantly opens up to about his difficulties in balancing family life with his criminal life.
The series, which aired from 1999 to 2007, is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential television series of all time.
It’s won multiple awards, including Peabody Awards for its first two seasons.
Fans are now heartbroken after hearing the sad news of one of its stars’ passing.
Paying tribute online, a fan writes: “Thank you for the memories. RIP.”
Another adds: “May he rest in peace.”
“I was not prepared for this news,” comments a third heartbroken fan.

Charley Scalies, best known for his roles in The Sopranos and The Wire, has passed away at the age of 84.
Born in 1940 in Philadelphia, the actor’s most recognized roles came in two of HBO’s most critically acclaimed dramas.
In 2003, Scalies appeared in all episodes of the second season of The Wire. He played Thomas ‘Horseface’ Pakusa, an imprisoned Baltimore longshoreman.
He said in a 2019 interview: “As with all the other characters I’ve been blessed to portray, ‘Horseface’ lives inside of me.
“I invite him out to play as needed.”
The following year, he starred in the fifth season of The Sopranos. He played Tony’s high school football instructor, Coach Molinaro, who appears in the mafia boss’s dream and yells at him for throwing away his life for a life of crime.
Throughout his acting career, Scalies appeared in other TV shows, including Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, and Cold Case.
He also starred in the films Condition Red, Twelve Monkeys, and Jersey Girl.

Scalies’ death was announced in an online obituary, which disclosed that he ‘passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s’ on May 1.
His daughter, Anne Marie Scalies, told The Hollywood Reporter that the 84-year-old died in a nursing facility in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.
The tribute to the actor read: “[He was] best known first and foremost as a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
“Professionally, Charley Scalies was an American actor and former business executive whose life reflected a rich blend of professional achievement, creative passion, and a true joy for life. His favorite audience was always seated around the dinner table.”
Scalies is survived by his wife and ‘the true love and joy of his life’, Angeline M. Scalies, and his five children.
