Billy Miller has tragically died days before his 44th birthday.

Miller, 43, was a Daytime Emmy-winning actor best known for his roles in US soap dramas.

He began his career as Richi Novak in All My Children from 2007 to 2008 and he then went on to play the role of Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless.

Miller joined General Hospital as twin characters Jason Morgan and Drew Cain from 2014 to 2019.

Devastatingly, it has been confirmed that Miller died on Friday in Austin, Texas, as reported by soap opera journalist Michael Fairman.

In a statement to Variety on September 17, Miller’s manager said he was ‘struggling with manic depression when he died’.

It was also noted by the publication that the actor suffered from a rare ankle condition named Tarsal coalition since childhood.

An official cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

Many of Miller’s fans have taken to social media and paid tribute to the actor.

One person tweets: “Very sad to hear about Billy Miller, I so enjoyed his time on General Hospital. He was a really good guy and funny and kind to all! RIP Billy.”

Another adds: “Sad indeed. Enjoyed his performances. Much too young to be gone.”

Actor and film producer Gabriel Macht has also paid tribute, penning: “RIP my TV bro Billy Miller, I am touched by your thoughtfulness, your authentic honest approach to your art, your kind nature and big smile that lit us all.

“May your memory always be a blessing to ur mother, your sister and her children. And to so many you’ve touched. Peace and love.”

Days Of Our Lives star Eileen Davidson followed on, writing: “I’m so sad to hear of Billy Miller’s passing. His infectious charm and warmth left lasting impressions on all of us who were lucky enough to have him in our lives. I’m gonna miss that mischievous smile. Love you, Billy.”

Miller, who was born in Oklahoma, was at one point signed as a model to Wilhelmina and he graduated from the University of Texas with a communications degree.

He started out in the entertainment industry with All My Children.

Throughout his career, he received three Daytime Emmys: two for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and one for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

He also had credits in shows such as Showtime’s Ray Donovan, Meghan Markle’s show Suits and Apple TV+’s Truth Be Told.

Miller is survived by his mother, Patricia, and his sister, Megan.
