Tom Cruise reportedly has an unusual clause in all of his film contracts.

The Top Gun: Maverick star is one of the most successful actors working today.

Known for performing his own death-defying stunts in his movies such as the Mission Impossible franchise, Cruise has earned himself a staggering net worth of around $600 million.

However, the Edge of Tomorrow star has an unusual clause that is put in all of his movie contracts.

It is quite common for big Hollywood action blockbusters to have a lot of merchandise, such as action figures and video games.

You go to any toy store and you will see rows upon rows of Marvel superheroes and Star Wars characters, all resembling their onscreen counterparts.

You would think that with the number of blockbuster films Cruise has been in, he would have tons of action figures that share a likeness to him.

Well, it turns out that he has a clause in his film contracts that states any merchandise can’t share a resemblance to the Edge of Tomorrow star.

In the video game adaptations of Mission Impossible and War of the Worlds, Cruise’s character looks absolutely nothing like the 60-year-old actor.

While in the adaption for Minority Report, he has blonde hair – which again, doesn’t resemble the legendary movie star.

You can find unofficial merchandise of Cruise if you look around.

However, it has been confirmed that none of these has officially been licensed by either the actor or the film’s production company.

Cruise is not the first actor – and certainly won’t be the last – to have an unusual clause in his contract.

Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, and Jason Statham reportedly all have a clause in their contract that states they must all take the same amount of damage when shooting fight scenes against one another in the Fast & Furious franchise.

This was addressed by producer Michael Fottrell, who told the Wall Street Journal: “Fights are choreographed to ensure that none of the leads comes out looking like a loser.”

Meanwhile, Samuel L. Jackson has a clause that states he must be allowed to play golf twice a week while shooting a film.

Speaking to CNN about it, he says: “Generally, they either move me onto a golf course so I can play or join a club so I can play, and they have to let me play at least twice a week.”

He adds: “I like golf because it’s a perfect game for an only child like me…

“In this game, you get responsibility for everything you do bad, and you get all the credit for everything you do well.”
