Lip Reader Reveals Kylie Jenner’s Savage Eight-Word Comment To Timothée Chalamet At Oscars
A lip reader has revealed the brutal eight-word comment Kylie Jenner made to Timothée Chalamet at the 2026 Oscars.
The 2026 Oscars delivered all the glitz, glamor, and unforgettable moments Hollywood is known for – a night celebrating the biggest films and brightest stars of the year.
But while the awards took center stage, many viewers couldn’t take their eyes off Jenner and Chalamet, whose show-stopping red carpet appearance quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of the evening.
Now, the buzz has only intensified, as a lip reader claims to have uncovered the savage comment Jenner made to Chalamet – and it’s sending the internet into overdrive.
Hollywood’s biggest night of the year
As always, the Academy Awards provided plenty of glamor and newsworthy moments in equal measure.
Widely regarded as the biggest night of the Hollywood calendar, the Oscars spotlights the artists involved in the year’s most critically acclaimed and highly regarded pictures.
Every year, anticipation builds around awards season. The Emmys, Golden Globes, Actor Awards (formerly Screen Actors Guild Awards), and Critics’ Choice all suitably whet the appetite for the Oscars.

Film fans make their cases for their favorites to win across each category, inevitably with several frontrunners emerging as the ceremony draws nearer.
This year, many believed Chalamet would finally pick up his first Oscar, having been nominated twice before (for Call Me by Your Name and A Complete Unknown, respectively).
The Marty Supreme star took to the red carpet with his girlfriend, Kylie.
Their appearance together at the ceremony further cemented their status as one of Hollywood’s most talked about couples, with both their outfits drawing a litany of reviews online and across social media.
Timothée Chalamet misses out amid ballet and opera controversy
Chalamet had been an early favorite to take home the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in Marty Supreme. However, the 30-year-old lost out to Michael B. Jordan for his dual role as identical twins Smoke and Stack in Ryan Coogler’s vampire horror Sinners.
Chalamet has received a deluge of plaudits for his leading man performance as Marty Mauser, loosely based on the late American table tennis player Marty Reisman.
Alongside the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’Zion, Tyler, the Creator (billed as Tyler Okonma for the film), Fran Drescher, Abel Ferrara, and Kevin O’Leary, Chalamet put forth a performance that was heralded far and wide as a career best, leaving many to believe it would be third time lucky for him at the Academy Awards.

Marty Supreme, a ping-pong dramedy directed by Josh Safdie, had become A24’s highest-grossing film, earning nine Oscar nominations and a further 11 at the BAFTAs. The National Board of Review and the American Film Institute each named it among their best films of 2025.
Chalamet scooping the Best Actor prizes at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice awards seemed to further confirm an Oscar was coming his way.
However, the three-time nominee remained just that. Michael B. Jordan would take home the Best Actor Oscar, with Marty Supreme failing to win a single one of the 20 awards it was nominated for across the BAFTAs and Academy Awards.
The tide had begun to turn away from Chalamet in the days that led up to the Oscars ceremony.
During a recent CNN and Variety Town Hall, Chalamet reunited with his Interstellar co-star Matthew McConaughey. The pair discussed the business of Hollywood and the pressures associated with box office success.
Chalamet began by saying: “I admire people, and I’ve done it myself, who go on a talk show and say, ‘Hey, we’ve got to keep movie theaters alive, we’ve gotta keep this genre alive,’ and another part of me feels like if people want to see it, like Barbie, like Oppenheimer, they’re going to go see it and go out of their way to be loud and proud about it.”

But then the 30-year-old New Yorker continued: “I don’t want to be working in ballet, or opera, or things where it’s like, ‘Hey, keep this thing alive, even though like no one cares about this anymore.’ All respect to all the ballet and opera people out there,” and suddenly a lot of positivity and goodwill appeared to dry up.
Brazilian ballet dancer, Victor Caixeta hit back at Chalamet, saying: “Let’s see if your movies are still being watched in 300 years.”
Misty Copeland, one of America’s most prominent ballerinas, also shared her surprise at Chalamet’s comments, especially as the actor had asked for her help in promoting Marty Supreme.
Copeland, who also performed a ballet routine during the Oscars ceremony itself, said during a recent panel: “I think that it’s important that we acknowledge that, yes, this is an art form that’s not ‘popular’ and a part of pop culture as movies are, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have enduring relevance in culture.”
Chalamet was not safe from some needling about his comments at the Oscars either, with host Conan O’Brien joking in his opening monologue: “Security is extremely tight tonight. I’m told there’s concerns about attacks from both the opera and ballet communities. They’re just mad you left out jazz.”
Chalamet’s relationship with Kylie Jenner
Chalamet began dating reality TV star, model, and socialite Kylie Jenner in 2023.
They had been rumored to be in a relationship for several months before they were spotted kissing at Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour in September.
Over the last two-and-a-half year, Chalamet and Jenner have stepped out together at a plethora of major events and award shows, from the US Open to the Golden Globes to the Oscars to several New York Knicks NBA Playoff games.

Jenner was also a regular fixture alongside Chalamet during his much-discussed press tour for Marty Supreme.
Despite having been together for over two years now, the pair didn’t actually make their red carpet debut together until May 2025, when they attended the 70th David Di Donatello Awards in Rome, where the actor was honored with the David for Cinematic Excellence.
Lip Reader decodes Kylie’s brutal comment
During the 98th annual Academy Awards, the cameras regularly panned to the couple in the audience. And apparently, a tense moment occurred, which has since been decoded by a lip reader.
Lip reader Nicola Hickling studied the footage of a moment the pair shared.
The behind-the-scenes clip from Entertainment Tonight shows Chalamet making a finger gun gesture at someone off-camera. The actor then turns to Jenner and says something that the lip reader was unable to decipher because of the angle.

With both Chalamet and Jenner then looking in the same direction towards where the actor had previously been looking, Jenner then appears to roll her eyes and say, per the Mirror: “Now you’re being a child, so shut up.”
It has not yet been revealed what the comment was in reference to or who Chalamet was directing his finger gun sign to in the first place.
