Will Smith Slammed For ‘Inappropriate’ Act With Singer At Awards Show
Will Smith is being called out for what many are calling an ‘inappropriate’ onstage moment with singer India Martinez.
The incident occurred during their performance of ‘First Love’ at the Premio Lo Nuestro award show in Miami.
People are taking to social media and reacting strongly to the viral moment, with some condemning the display.
One individual called it ‘the worst,’ while another remarked: “Inappropriate, even if it is ‘entertainment.'”
Mockingly, a third said: “Someone’s dad doing karaoke with a drunk local woman.”
Someone else questioned: “Wonder what Jada would have to say about this.”
Meanwhile, others have taken to social media and defended the King Richard star.
Many have pointed out that Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, had publicly admitted to an affair with singer August Alsina in 2020.
Arguing that Smith has endured significant embarrassment in the past, one fan commented: “I know y’all ain’t tripping when Jada has embarrassed this man publicly numerous times!”
Another added: “Let that man live, he’s been put through enough.”
“Will is living life, and I love to see it,” shared a third.
Reports suggest that Smith and Pinkett, who married in 1997, have been leading largely separate lives despite remaining legally married.
In 2023, Pinkett Smith disclosed that they had been privately separated since 2016.
Sources claim the couple still maintains a connection but have chosen independent lifestyles.
Pinkett Smith previously revealed in her memoir, titled ‘Worthy,’ that their separation felt like a ‘divorce’ although no legal action was taken.
“It was not a divorce on paper. But it was a divorce,” the actress wrote.
She also shared that she had considered formally ending the marriage but ultimately decided against it.
Despite the challenges in their relationship, Pinkett Smith said she felt a renewed sense of commitment to her husband following the infamous 2022 Oscars incident, where Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock after a joke about her shaved head.
“That was a moment that I knew I would never leave Will’s side after all those years thinking I would,” she stated. “It’s funny how intense situations can amplify love.”
But now, it’s an onstage incident that has Smith back in the spotlight.
The Oscar-winning actor was seen engaging in a flirtatious exchange with Martinez, a Spanish flamenco and pop singer.
Footage shows the pair embracing, seemingly exchanging a kiss, and Smith placing a hand on the singer’s lower back.
Backstage photos added fuel to the controversy, showing Martinez enthusiastically jumping into Smith’s arms and wrapping her legs around his waist.
