X Factor Star Honey G Looks Unrecognizable As She Reveals Bold New Look
X Factor‘s Honey G looks unrecognizable as she debuts her brand new look on the red carpet.
The reality TV star, whose real name is Anna Georgette Gilford, found fame on the television talent show with her unique style and rapping skills, becoming a hit fan favorite in 2016.
She became known for her signature look of oversized sunglasses and baseball caps, making her a standout contestant.
The rapper made it all the way to the quarter-finals of the X Factor and finished in fifth place.
Yet Honey G also made headlines during her X Factor appearance.
The rapper received some criticism regarding whether or not she was serious about a music career or just wanted fame with her eccentric look and performances, however, she’s been involved with music since at least 1999, when she began mixing and DJing.
Following her time on the talent show, the artist signed with Simon Cowell’s Syco Music and released her debut single, ‘The Honey G Show,’ in December 2016.
The track went on to chart at Number 149 on the U.K. Singles Chart, and she made a guest performance on the X Factor, where she performed her debut.
The singer started her independent record label following her time with Syco Music, and released several singles, including ‘Jerk IT’ and ‘Waiting for Your Love.’
Honey G also surprised fans after they learned she had switched careers to a real estate agent, but she shared that she would still continue her passion for music.
In an interview with the Mirror, she opened up with fans about her personal life, sharing that she hadn’t previously been ready to open up about her s**uality.
She told the news outlet: “I just wasn’t ready to come out to the public, you know?
“One of the questions that Simon asked me in that first audition was, ‘Have I got a boyfriend?’ And I was a bit defensive at the time because I was just like, ‘No, I’m single.’”
Since her time on X Factor, Honey G has seen a huge transformation, undergoing a weight loss during the coronavirus pandemic and losing several dress sizes.
Speaking of her weight loss, she told the Daily Star: “I had a personal trainer for a year and a half, almost two years, and we worked a lot on strength training, and I started to see, coupled with all the running I was doing, I started to see my body change.
“That’s why not a lot of people recognize me in the street anymore, it says online I’m unrecognizable, which is true.”
Honey G also said that she doesn’t receive as much attention when she goes out in public after ditching her signature look.
She shared: “I’m not saying I miss being chased through a shopping centre by school kids, but seriously, in all honesty, when I started to see body shape change, it spurred me on even more.”
In recent red carpet appearances, the X Factor star has sported a whole new look – gone are the large sunglasses or baseball hats.
