Alysha Burney Has Died Aged 24
Social media star Alysha Burney has tragically died at age 24.
The Kansas City native had amassed over five million followers across TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
Outside of social media, she owned the production company ABurneyProductions, which has produced a film.
The content creator had been living in Los Angeles and was a University of Central Missouri graduate.
Fans are heartbroken after hearing the saddening news of Burney’s passing.
On her social media, one fan writes: “Rest in peace, beautiful.”
Another adds: “Rest in peace. We forever miss you.”
“May she rest in peace,” somebody else says. “She never failed to make me laugh and smile.”
A fourth person comments: “I miss you, Burney. You were my inspiration.”
Burney’s brother, Charles, said: “She was not selfish with her knowledge and was a very open book about her journey. She will always be dearly loved, and her legacy will live on forever.
“Alysha was very goal-oriented, creative, and passionate about giving back. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Digital Media Production and was working towards her graduate degree.”
In an interview with FOX4, Charles disclosed that Burney died after having an asthma attack while sleeping.
The influencer reportedly passed away on March 2 while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She was 24 years old and set to turn 25 the next day.
Due to her status and social media following, rumors regarding her passing have circulated, which her brother is dispelling.
“She does not do drugs. She was a self-loving and happy individual who cherished her life and was looking forward to the upcoming year’s plans. She was in Mexico to celebrate her birthday. She was a very classy young woman,” Charles commented.
“There’s a spread of misinformation online, stating different things based on speculation. These sources lack credibility and should not be believed. My sister did not engage in environments that would lead to such situations.”
Charles said his sister aspired to be a writer and director, in addition to helping other young creatives.
Her brother first confirmed the saddening news on Instagram, where he wrote (per MailOnline): “I come with great sadness that my little sister Alysha Burney has passed.
“PLEASE allow our family time to grieve during this time.
“It is extremely difficult seeing all of the false narratives trying to defame her legacy and we are ready to take legal action for those continuing to spread false information regarding her passing.”
Charles acknowledged that ‘so many people’ care deeply for his younger sister and respectfully requested that her fans ‘stop harassing’ his family.
He concluded: “Her legacy will still live on FOREVER!!”
