Boxing legend Chris Eubank had MasterChef fans in hysterics during this week’s ‘Best of British’ episode.

He whipped up numerous meals including fish and chips and pesto pasta – eventually from scratch – though, as expected, the focus was less on his food and more on his antics.

Approaching his first dish, Eubank said: “You’re here, so let people see your light.”

Inspirational stuff.

Asked if he was scared to use a pasta maker, he replied: “Once you’ve been smacked in the teeth by Nigel Benn, you’re quite used to fear.”

What fans questioned most was a bizarre quip after John Torode and Greg Wallace asked him if he’d tasted his pasta dish before serving it up.

“I can see the taste with my eyes,” he said.

Viewers were left cracking up and clearly loved having a character like Eubank on the show.

One person wrote: “Chris Eubank on #MasterChef is the gift that keeps on giving. Never mind cooking in a three-piece suit ….”

Another said: “How can you not love Chris Eubank.”

Pitching in, a third wrote: “Chris Eubank is making me howl on #MasterChef #notaclue.”

“Chris Eubank #MasterChef is absolutely bonkers. Fair play to him,” added another.

“Chris Eubank saying ‘I can see the taste with my eyes’. I’M F***ING DEAD,” tweeted a fourth.

The boxing hero repeatedly said he felt ‘stupendous’ about each of his dishes, but he was regrettably evicted from the show after receiving what can only be described as ‘a lot of help’ with his cooking.

Eubank was joined by Gareth Malone, Cliff Parisi, and Mel Blatt on the show – who he said he would do better than because they all ‘complain too much’.

He has entertained on MasterChef before, last time wowing judges – and not in a good way – with a tin of corned beef.
