Chris Evans has been named the sexiest man alive by People magazine, however, fans feel the title should have gone to someone else.
The Captain America star, 41, now joins fellow Marvel alumni Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba, Hugh Jackman, and Michael B Jordan as a recipient of this prize.
Speaking to People, Evans explained that while people will be happy for him, there is one person in particular who will be delighted.
“My mom will be so happy,” he says.
“She’s proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about.”

Evans then proceeded to explain his emotions after winning the elegant award.
The Lightyear star commented: “This whole thing is tough to be interviewed about.
“It feels like a weird form of humble bragging.”
He then joked: “Really this will just be a point of bullying, it’s ripe for harassment.”

However, many fans have been claiming that someone else should have been the recipient of the award.
In fact, they believe 2021 winner Paul Rudd should have kept the title.
One person wrote: “Chris Evans being named people’s sexiest man alive when it should actually be Paul Rudd every year in a row until further notice.”
“Paul Rudd you’re the only sexy man alive in my life, no one else, only you,” commented someone else.
A third user added: “They should consider simply renewing Paul Rudd’s sexiest man alive title indefinitely.”
“Paul Rudd will always be the Sexiest Man Alive,” demanded someone else.
A fifth person commented: “Honestly? Paul Rudd until infinity. Nothing against these other sexy sexy men, but you just don’t get sexier than Paul Rudd.”
A fellow Marvel actor, where he plays Ant-Man alongside Evans in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Rudd found out he was the recipient on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

Similar to Evans, the Clueless actor said at the time that he was expecting a lot of grief from friends after being voted Sexiest Man Alive.
He told People: “I mean I’m going to lean into it hard. I’m going to own this. I’m not going to try to be like ‘Oh, I’m so modest.’ I’m getting business cards made.
“But all of my friends will destroy me and I expect them to. And that’s why they’re my friends.”

Rudd also said that he expected his life to change and would be invited to ‘sexy dinners’ with fellow ‘Sexiest Men Alive’ winners and be on ‘a lot more yachts’.
He added: “I’m hoping now that I’ll finally be invited to some of those sexy dinners with [George] Clooney and [Brad] Pitt and [Michael] B Jordan.
“And I figure I’ll be on a lot more yachts. I’m excited to expand my yachting life.
“And I’ll probably try to get better at brooding in really soft light. I like to ponder. I think this is going to help me become more inward and mysterious. And I’m looking forward to that.”
